Reflections for Police Officer Jennifer Timathy-Ann Fettig
Rest in peace, and thank you for keeping the peace while you were here. It will be an honor for me to serve as a police officer because of Officer Fettig and the other officers who have paid the ultimate price. My sympathies go to her fiance, family and fellow officers. She will never be forgotten.

Dear Angel Jennifer,
Words cannot express the sorrow I felt as I read of your untimely deaths. You were both so young and full of spirit I'm sure (as we all were when we first started). I can only imagine God chose the two of you because you were so special. I know your in a beautiful place and I find comfort in knowing your watching over all of us as we carry on the mission.
My heart and my prayers go out to your family and loved ones. I pray they find comfort as God wraps his arms around them and holds them close to him.
I know your tour was too short, but rest easy as we will take it from here.

I logged on tonight and saw that two more of our nation's finest were tragically killed. This breaks my heart, especially since these two officers were so young. Reading about this often makes me discouraged about becoming a law enforcement officer. Yet, I am determined. I will dedicate my challenge in becoming a law enforcement officer to people like these fine officers from Detroit who gave their lives serving others. God rest their souls. I salute angels in blue everywhere!

Rest in peace, Officer Fettig. You were so young and full of potential. It makes me so angry when a young angel is taken for such a petty price. A ticket or short time in jail, or an officer's life. These things should not be happening. Rest in peace, Officer. You are a hero.

I was so saddened to learn two more fine officers had been slain. Niether officer had the opportunity to realize what a great career they had chosen. It makes one wonder why we do choose to be law enforcement officers. It certainly isn't for the money. It's because we care about our people and country.
Our prayers are with your family, friends and fellow officers. You will never be forgotton. You died a hero and America thanks you for your service. Rest in peace Officer Fettig.

Grrrr! This infuriates me. Our world is becoming more violent by the
moment. Life is difficult at times and the Lord Jesus wants to help carry
our burdens. He gives us many beautiful promises in His Word to help us
through our valleys. I pray you will feel His presence and know His
peace. Thank you for your service, dedication and mostly, your
sacrifice, officer Fettig. We ache from missing you and my thoughts are
with all those left behind to grieve.

I sit here with tears streaming down my cheeks. A few hours ago I read about Officer Bowens and came here to leave a reflection in his memory. At the time it was only him who had passed on. Now I've come home to see two names and find that you, Officer Fettig have gone too. It's just not right. I will leave you the same poem I left for Officer Bowens and along with it will say bless you, bless your family and I'm sorry for all your pain. Thank you for your strength and courage.
THE POLICEMAN'S LAST ROLL CALL
The policeman stood and faced his God, which always must come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining, just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek, to my church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough,
And sometimes I've been violent because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep,
Though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, though times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept many unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here;
They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me Lord, it needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much, but if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the thrown where the Saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly, for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman, you've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets, you've done your time in hell."
