Reflections for Constable Maurice Dudley Beane

Constable Beane, it has been 111 years since you were taken from us. Northern New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for your 6 years of law enforcement service.

I am the current town clerk for the Town of Passadumkeag and I have to say that nowhere in our history does this event ever get mentioned. I plan to print it out and present it to my board of Selectmen to see if we could get it framed here for the community building.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 98th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, not even 98 years.

Rest In Peace

On the 96th anniversary of Constable Beane's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Constable Beane is not forgotten.
