The police memorial was last week and it wass so hard not to be there. They have always meant a lot to both Michael and I in so many ways. I guess it will be better that we are so far away now... I couldn't handle being there and you not. You brought so many smiles and laughter to those trips. We will make the trip next year Wally, to honor you and Mo and the girls. Not a day goes by that I dont think of you all... I worry about all of our "family" back home. Watch over them and keep them safe. One more thing, watch over Michael for me Wally, please keep him safe, I don't think I could be as brave and strong as Maureen is.

I did not know William but I felt like I should write something. It is sad to see someone so young lose their life. I read some of the other reflections and he sounds like he definitely was one of the good ones. My deepest sympathy to his family and to everyone else please be careful.

Just wanted to pay my respect to the Rolniak family for their sacrifice. I
recently just returned from Iraq and was given a lot of praise that I felt I
wasn't worthy of. Your husband/father and friend layed in on the line every day for many years and for that I am
thankful and appreciative. I am going into Law Enforcement in a few months and William Rolniak Jr. will serve as a source of inspiration. THANK YOU!!!

Every year at this time I think about those who have given thier lives doing what we do. This year is much more personal than the past. Not only will I miss attending the Illinois Police Memorial with all of my 'family', but I will miss seeing you there Wally. Not a day goes by that I don't think and pray for you, Moe, Nicole and Denise. Take care Bra!

well, it's the start of another season tomorrow. We're all excited but sooo sad knowing how very much we're going to miss you this weekend. Big J. has been acting up again. You know you're the only one that can calm him down. We're having hotdogs and sausage. I can't quite bring myself to do cheeseburgers. maybe sunday. It's supposed to be a beautiful day, but the sun will never feel as bright at the ballpark for us again. this is really hard. we miss you everyday, but the weekends will be the worst. send down some good luck please. we're going to need it. you'll be in our hearts tomorrow and we know you'll be watching from the best seat in the house. don't worry about nik and mo. we'll be there for them this weekend all the way. friends 4-ever.

Mr. Rolniak,
we have our first tourny this weekend. me and nicole are playiing at the same times just at different fields. before i even start warming up with my team i am gunna warm nicole up pitching. (we all know how much she needs to warm up) In between 2 of our games we are gunna barbeque at the same pavillion where we always use to. its not gunna be the same without u but i kno u will be up there watching down on us. we will all let u know how this tournament goes even though we kno you are gunna be there.

To those of you who love Wally and miss him, take heart in knowing from the turn out at the benefit last night that he was so very loved by an enormous number of people. Nobody who ever knew him will ever forget him nor will forget the sacrifice he made for ALL of us.
