WELL KID WE ARE HOME FROM DC IT WAS VERY NICE THE GIRLS GOT A LOT OUT OF IT THEY MADE ALOT OF FREINDS YOU WOULD OF BEEN PROUD OF THEM. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. AND TO ALL THAT DON'T KNOW NICOLE MET WITH THE PRES. AND HE GAVE HER A KISS AND SHE GOT HIS AUTOGRAPH AND SO SIS HIS DAD AND HIS SISTER .IT WAS AHONOR TO BE THERE. I was a little apprehensive about going to the memorial this year. Thought it would be too hard to do. We felt your presence Wally... it wasn't the same without you there. I am so glad that we made the trip in to do this. Maureen and the girls are wonderful, so strong.. so special. It was great to spend time with so many people we haven't seen in awhile. I know that you saw Lenny and Michael BONDING, it was something to see!! So were SHAD'S knobby knees :) We will always try to make it down there to honor you. You are daily in our thoughts and prayers. We love and miss you Wally. Don't forget to watch over Michael and help bring him home to us each night.

One more thing, Please welcome David Uribe, our most recent Phoenix Officer, with open arms. It just doesnt seem fair. Hard to see after just leaving the memorial.

This shows how out of touch we can be. I was standing at the memorial at our courthouse today when I heard Wally's name read out. I had no idea that Wally had been killed in the line of duty. I went to the University of Illinois Police Training Institute with Wally and we were classmates. I remember him as a very kind man, and was shocked when I heard his name read out. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and his daughters. May God bless Wally and his family.

My name is Jim and I am a bicyclist in this year's Police Unity Tour. Our chapter (Northern NJ), which will be riding from Livingston, NJ to the memorial in Washington D.C., made memorial bracelets commemorating this year's fallen officers, and I have the honor and privilege of wearing yours and riding in your memory. Though the bracelets were distributed randomly and we have not met, I have read these pages and feel like I've known you for years. You have a loving family (both at home and at work), and my heart goes out to all of them. I will be thinking of you during the ride, and when the going gets tough and I feel that I cannot ride any farther, I will remember the sacrifice that you have made and press on. You and your family are in my prayers.
