Officer Shaw- Your sacrifice went unnoticed by Arlington County for almost 70 years! I was fortunate enough to happen upon a newspaper article about your death and do the proper research to finally have you recognized. Every time I drive past the site of the accident on Route 1 I will think of you and your service to the citizens of Arlington County. I will continue my efforts to honor you until the Arlington County Police Department and Arlington County Board of Directors officially acknowledge your sacrifice.
