As a survivor it pains my heart to see another hero has lost his life. Each time that badge is put on, life is in danger but each officer faces the "job" with courage and dignity. Deputy Burton, thank you for your service but your sacrifice is what made you a hero. Thank you sir.

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon those that doeth evil.

most people would tell you that law enforcement is a dangerous job. i never listened. I was always afriad when there was a domestic call or when i heard dispatch say use caution with someone. My husband was a little man but his size never mattered to him. He wanted to be a policeman, he wanted to make the small town we lived in a safe place for everyone. i never thought that directing traffic would be the worst thing that he could do. I just want to say to all the officers that read this "To be careful out there and watch out for other drivers and be careful so you can go home to your family" GOD BLESS

I met officer Burton about 2 months before this tragic day and the impact he made on me in the time we talked showed me what great of a person he was. He spoke highly of his family and his hopes for them and himself. He spoke of how he had done his duty for his country and would not have had any other way and how now that he was retired he could do what he had always wanted to do, be a police officer. The pain I feel for his family is very great I know by no means is it anything compared to theirs but I guess knowing one of my own and a man who serves his country home and abroad has lost his life I to feel it. God Bless Deputy Burton and God Bless his family and may they always be watched over and for the record he did make an impact on this world and many people in it and he will be remembered.

To the family, friends, and co-workers of Dep.Kenneth Burton. Kenneth dedicated his life to the service of our country and to the citizens of our county. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends during these very difficult of times. We have lost another brother who will be deeply missed. I was blessed to have the chance to work with a man with his desire to serve others. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to serve with him. He gave his all every day he reported for duty and ultimately gave his life serving and protecting the citizens of the county that we serve. God bless you, your family, and all of us who are left behind to continue the fight. Rest in peace my brother, for my thoughts are with you, your family, and co-workers.
