Tony,
I'll always remember you as professional, caring and being the true policeman that you were. I'll miss seeing you and Larry as we cross paths on Athen's streets and in "the hall."
Like Larry, you were my friend and protector. All policemen give some, but you gave all . . . you will never be forgotten . . . your community, friends and of course family, will always remember the sacrifice you made to protect us all.
As is inscribed on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C., . . . "It is not how they died that made them heroes, but rather, how they lived." Soon, you and Tony will be a part of that memorial, remembered and honored forever. I will never forget you my brother, and will always honor your memory. With brotherly love and respect, Jim Crotty

A Brother Warrior has fell and died today in battle.
This Brother Warrior has made the ultimate sacrifice.
He has given his life for his Fellow Warriors, his family and friends too.
Brother Warrior, pass your sword to us, so we can keep your spirit alive.
You, my Brother Warrior will not be forgotten.
God Bless you, your family and your friends.
We honor and respect all of the Fallen Warriors who have gone before us.
We ask you, Brother Warriors to guide us, protect us and pray for us.
We will meet again my Brother Warriors.
For this time not to fight another battle, but to live in eternal peace.
God bless all of the Warriors, past, present and future.

Its hard to lose a co-worker/friend/family to such a senseless event. We are a family and for someone to take part of that away is at times unbearable. Tony was always a joy to work with, always smiling and always dependable. Tony and Larry loved their jobs as well as their families. As Christian men they did leave an impact on "our law enforcement family" as well as the community. Our loss is heaven's gain and thanks to these men I know Jesus Christ has also gained two more during this time. My heart goes out to the wives and children. Keep APD and all our family in your prayers. May Tony and Larry watch over us from a much better place. I LOVE YOU GUYS.

No one man can judge the sacrafice of anyone. This officer and his brother in blue died not for the city of Athens, or for glory, but for the citizens and most importantly eachother. This officer and his partner are everyday heroes that chose to help others and convince the world that there was some good left in people. Unfortunatley, they were proven incorrect. These men paid the ultimate sacrafice at the hands of a deranged gunmen with nothing to lose, such as family. It angers me a great deal when fellow officers die senslessly. The individual that killed them, like a coward that he is, shot them in the back. In that instant. Their children were left fatherless, wives left widows and the world a lesser place. To the man that shot and killed these officers, i ask what kind of contempt for your fellow man would cause you to commit such a tragic and sensless act. May god have mercy on your soul. To officer Mims and his partner, I say on behalf of police officers everywhere......thank you. Rest easy brothers.
