Bro:
I know, I know, it's been a while. Time since my last visit, seems to have evaporated, or at least accelerated.
My laziness aside, ahem, I will say that I still miss our phone conversations, especially our Christmas calls.
And, quite often when it's particularly quiet, or I walk by the skoot, I remember the good times with happiness, and the call from Kathy, and everything concerning you after that, with great sadness.
Always proud to call you friend, you are G.B.N.F.

I remember this day so very clearly. John's step daughter played softball with my daughter for years. I was so very sad when this happened. John's wife was such a pleasure to sit with at the ball fields.

John,
I think of you often. You were a major influence on my early development and knowledge of police work and culture. You were a great cop, a great teacher and humble leader. I don't think I really realized the influence you had on shaping my early understanding of police work.... Until today, when I was challenged to write a letter to someone who had great influence (professionally).
This is my letter. Your lessons will be and have been passed to the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice. You are remembered. Rest in peace brother.
