In this time of sorrow understand you are not alone. Though we cannot know your pain, we do know the loss. When I heard the announcement being read on the radio by Morris County Dispatch, my heart was breaking. I knew that tears were falling and it would be a sad day. Know that he will never be forgotten and his tour of duty will continue as he stands watch from the Gates of Heaven.
Our thoughts and Prayers will be with you and your family, may you find strength in the days to come.
May the capture and punishment of the person or persons responsible for this horrible act finally bring you closer.

never knew you,
But we are brothers,
I never met you,
But we are brothers,
Our paths never crossed,
But we are brothers,
I have never patrolled in your town,
But I know we have been on duty together,
I just in another TN town.
And we are brothers.
And as a brother,
I feel the pain,
I feel the hurt,
And I feel the sadness that only a brother can undergo.
The sacrifices that each of us make everyday in nothing compared to the one you and your fellow officer have accepted.
One that everyone one of us is aware could happen
Any day, any moment, any second.
You have made me proud,
You have made my job easier because
I am more aware.
I am more cautious
And I will never forget you.
May God hold you in his hand and have you rest in peace.

I am a former Oklahoma Highway Patrolman who also served Cotton County. My wife, Ann, was a dispatcher for Cotton County Sheriff's Dept. We knew Nik to be always a loving husband to Linda and father to their children. He was also a friend unlike any other you may have had. Nik was truly the perfect example of what a trooper should be. We will always miss him and send our our love and prayers to Linda and daughters and all of Nik's family and friends. God bless.

I wish I would have been able to thank Trooper Green for his service while he was here. Too many times the officers never hear how much they are appreciated until it is too late.
I would like for his wife, children and family to know that there are people like me out there that really appreciate the troopers and all of the work they do for the public.
My prayers are with you all, Trooper Green and all of the other law enforcement that protect my family and I daily.
God Bless,
Kim

I only had the opportunity to visit with Trooper Green on two occasions, but he carrried himself in such a way that I could tell he was probably a Christian man. It was only after this tragedy that I learned he was very involved in his local church. That's a man who doesn't just talk the talk, but walks the walk.
Mrs. Green, know that we are praying that God will comfort and carry you and your children.

May those who love him always remember him and remember what he stood for. We all try to be tough on the outside and fair with those we meet in a job that will not always have tangible rewards. We do this job for our friends and family so that they may sleep at night and live their lives to the fullest. I don’t know how it could be said any better than in John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

We do not have guns, we don't wear badges. We are the voices behind the radio, the ones that wait with anticipation to hear the voices of our officers, to know that they are safe and secure. We, too, feel your pain. They are also our brothers and sisters, their lives are precious to us. Thank you to all of the officers and their families, that have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the lives of others. We will always be indebted to you. May God be with Nikky Green's family and friends. God Bless you all

To the family, friends and fellow troopers of Trooper Nikky Green I express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I was informed by Troopers Ronnie and Scott Hampton that sad morning of the loss of Trooper Green. May swift justice be brought for the heinous act done by such a low life person, knowing that nothing could fill the void that he has made by taking the life of a father, a husband, a son and a hero. Trooper Green is no doubt in a better place watching over his brothers in brown and may his memory and the memory of those that were taken before him serve those that bring justice.
We ask Thy blessing and eternal rest to all our brothers who have sacrificed their very lives in the performance of their duties. Give to their loved ones the peace and strength to bear the anguish of their loss. Remove all resentment from their hearts, knowing that eternal peace and rest will abide their departed loved ones forever. This we beg Thy name forever and ever, Amen.

I want to send my sincere gratitude to you Trooper Green for the service you provided to the citizens of Oklahoma and this great country. On 12/27/2003, we laid a member of the Indiana State Police to rest due to an on duty shooting on 12/22/2003. At the service, a moment of silence was given for you and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol family. You will never be forgotten.

My prayers and thoughts go to the family of OHP Nik Green. He will be missed but will be in our hearts forever and never forgotten. He did his job to serve and protect. Even though i never met Trooper Green, i know he was a hard working man and had a good head on his shoulders and had a good sense of humor. Working with the officers and dispatching them to calls is not always easy and i know from my point of view i work with them everyday and there are times i have to send them to them but its there job.

Our hearts are heavy and our sorrows abundant with the grief of yet another loss of one of our own. May we all find comfort in the thought that Trooper Nikky Green #198 has found his reward, in Heaven with our Heavenly Father and his fallen brothers. May we all rest a little better knowing that he has been added to the list of angels watching over us and protecting us from the evils of this world, and may we all take the time to remember and not take for granted everyone who has chosen to wear the uniform and badge...."For Greater Love Hath No Man....." God Bless Trooper Green and his family, for they are now and forever will be in out thoughts and prayers.
