Reflections for Trooper Nikky Joe Green

I never really knew Nik that well, but I have seen him around I belived he stopped me a couple of times. After going to his funeral and realizing what kind of person he was is just so AWESOME!! I pray for you and your family and friends, God will hold you in his arms and take care of you, he dosen't do anything to us that we can't handle. Iam grateful to know there are men and women around to protect us from evil, GOD WILL PREVAIL!! You will see him again without all the hate and uglyness this world has to offer. May God hold you and keep you and your girls forever! Thank you for all of your protection & service you have offered us Nik!

To Linda, girls, family, friends, and fellow law enforcement officials:

I attempted to write something last night, but couldn't find the words. Our hearts have been literally shattered by the loss of Nik. Linda and girls, we love you.

I am Nik's next door neighbor. Nik was one of the most upstanding, sincere, professional, respectful, responsible, loving, and caring man that I have ever known. His humble spirit exalted his Christian walk. He served God, family, and work, in that order. Like Mr. Ritter said, he got it right. Nik was never intimidating, and he was always approachable by anyone and everyone. I know that my life has been deeply enriched by knowing him.

To other troopers and law enforcement officials that protect us, please, please be careful, because of this loss, my prayers are with all of you. I want all of you to go safely home to your families after your shift is over. The pain is too great to lose another one of you. May God watch over everyone involved in law enforcement, including your families, and your friends.

To the families and friends of the troopers that have been called home before Nik, may God bless each of you and please know that their lives will never be forgotten.

Toby our prayers are with you and with all of your family, we love you.

I knew both Nik and Linda and went to school with both. I always felt like I was a part of the Green family. What great people they both were. My heart goes out to Linda and the girls, what a tragedy. I last saw Nik this summer at a T-ball game. He always asked how I was and was so kind. I will remember him always. I will say an extra prayer for the family every night. I feel safer knowing such a great man is watching from above to protect us ALWAYS.

I will always remember the last time I talked to Nik. It was during the summer, and me and my family went to go eat. When we got there, Nik was there with his 3 girls eating. We sat and talked while our food was being made. We talked of Linda and how she was doing teaching, the girls, his sister Karen, cousin Rowd, cousin Joey, Uncle Toby, and his mother Nita Sue. He loved his family. He asked how my family was, my father, mother, sister. We talked for over 30 minutes about everyone. He was a really proud father. Grinning ear to ear. I will always cherish this moment. He was a GREAT PERSON! I am so glad that I was able to know this man.

I only knew Nik as a teenager playing baseball with him in Burkburnett, during the summer in the "Senior League's". I remember him always being kind to me and treating me with respect even though he was one of the "top dogs" and I was one of the youngest players. I remember being impressed by his responses to adults at the time, always referring to them as "Yes Sir" or "No Ma'am". Although I didn't know him very well in the last several years, there is no doubt in my mind that he was a first-class individual and a loving father and husband that should be honored as everybody is doing here now. May God Bless and keep his family and loved ones under His watch always!

TO THE FAMILY,
I AM SO SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.I HAVE REVIEWED THE VERY LENGTHY LIST OF HEARTFELT AND DEEPLY TOUCHING REFLECTIONS ABOUT NIK. WHAT A FANTASTIC PERSON!! I NEVER KNEW NIC BUT THE REFLECTIONS TELL THE TRUE STORY OF A REAL AND TRUE HERO. A MAN WHO LOVED THE LORD AND SERVED THE LORD WITH ALL OF HIS HEART. A MAN WHO WAS DEVOTED TO HIS FAMILY AND TRUELY LOVED THEM WITH ALL OF HIS HEART. A MAN WHOM LOVED HIS JOB AND PROTECTED ALL OF US WITHOUT PREJUDICE. I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR SHARING NIK SO HE COULD TOUCH SO MANY,MANY, MANY ETC. LIVES INCLUDING MY OWN. IT IS SO EASY FOR ME TO BE A POLICE OFFICER BUT IT IS SO VERY DIFFICULT TO BE A GREAT CHRISTIAN MAN AND A GREAT CHRISTIAN HUSBAND AND FATHER IN THIS DIFFICULT PROFFESSION.IT IS OBVIOUS THAT NIK WAS ALL OF THIS AND MORE.NIK IS NOT HERE HOWEVER HE HAS JUST TOUCHED MY LIFE. I APPRECIATE THE INSPIRATION HE HAS GIVEN ME TO BE ALL THAT WE ARE CALLED TO BE. I GREIVE FOR YOU NOW BUT I REJOICE THAT NIK HAS RECEIVED THE ULTIMATE AWARD AN ETERNITY IN HEAVEN . NIK YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE TRUE HEROES AND GOD LOVES YOU.FOR IT IS NOT FOR US TO UNDERSTAND WHY BUT TO TAKE COMFORT IN HIM. GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU THAT IS HIS PROMISE AND HE LOVES YOU ALL.AGAIN THANK YOU FOR SHARING NIK SO HE COULD TOUCH SO MANY PEOPLES LIVES EVEN PEOPLE THAT DIDNT KNOW HIM.GOD BLESS YOU AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU .

Trooper Greens Family,

It saddans me to hear of this news. Having a father retired from OHP I feel like you are family. My father was shot in 1969 and I was not even thought of yet. When I entered law enforcement I retireved the news reports of my fathers shooting and see what my family went through, so I feel your pain. Trooper Green has done one of the toughest things in a law enforcment career, he gave his life for his country, especially Oklahoma residents. The war on drugs is a never ending battle, but he did not give up, he did his job. My heart and prayers go out to his family and especially his children as I am one of them, a troopers child.

most people would tell you that law enforcement is a dangerous job. i never listened. I was always afriad when there was a domestic call or when i heard dispatch say use caution with someone. My husband was a little man but his size never mattered to him. He wanted to be a policeman, he wanted to make the small town we lived in a safe place for everyone. i never thought that directing traffic would be the worst thing that he could do. I just want to say to all the officers that read this "To be careful out there and watch out for other drivers and be careful so you can go home to your family" GOD BLESS

To The Family of Trooper Nikky Green,

As a Christian law enforcement officer, I have been where you are now. And the only way that I survived was to focus on Christ, and His unfailing love for me. I realized that He was the only one that I could truly count on. So now, I can say without hesitation, HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU!

This life is just a vapor, soon to be passed away. And when our lives are over, we must all stand before God. But I am thankful that Nikky saw the need in life to commit himself to Christ and receive Him as Savior.

Nikky now walks with The Master. What a wonderful experience it must be! Just remember, there are no tears in heaven.

My Hearts and prayers go out to Trooper Green's family. I did not know Trooper Green personally however I did attend his funeral and saw first hand how loved this man was. Trooper Green will not be forgotton but remembered as a true patriot. I have heard so many great things about Trooper Green in the last few day's and that is enough to remember him for a life time. I think that show's how much of an impact he has on people. God Bless.

HEY PARTNER,,

MY LIFE CHANGED AT 7:10 AM ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 26. I GOT THE PHONE CALL INFORMING ME OF YOUR DEATH. ALL EMOTIONS LEFT ME AS I CALLED OUR OTHER PARTNER "PEANUT", AND TOLD HIM . MY FIRST CONCERNS WAS LINDA AND THE GIRLS. I DRESSED IMMEDIATELY AND BEGAN BOTH THE HUNT FOR THE MAN AND TO BE WITH YOUR FAMILY. I ONLY LEFT THEIR SIDE AFTER BEING INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BUT THEN IT WAS HARD. THE COMFORT THAT I SEEKED WAS KNOWING YOUR FAITH IN GOD AND DEDICATION TO YOUR FAMILY. AS WE PROMISED EACH OTHER LONG AGO, IN THE EVENT THIS EVER HAPPENED THEY WOULD NEVER BE LEFT ALONE OR FORGOTTEN. ALL THE BROWN SHIRTS HAVE CRIED ALONG WITH THOUSANDS OF OTHERS AND HELD BACK ANGER AS WELL IN THIS TRAGEDY. I THINK HOW EVEN THOUGH ALL IS A BLURR, I REALIZE WE ARE THE UNLUCKY ONES. YOUR IN GLORY AND WE LIVE WHERE THERE IS STILL HATE. AGAIN AS I PROMISED YOU, I ALONG WITH OTHERS WILL MAKE SURE LINDA AND YOUR BABIES ARE TAKEN CARE OF. I WOULD HAVE TRADED PLACES WITH YOU AND NEVER THOUGHT TWICE. PLEASE WATCH OVER US FROM ABOVE. PROTECT US AND GUIDE US IN YOUR DIRECTION. AND IN CLOSING,,, I ALWAYSE TEASED YOU ABOUT HAVING THE WEAKEST KNEES OF ANYONE I KNEW BECAUSE YOU FAINTED SO EASY WHEN YOU STOOD AT ATTENTION,,,BUT YOU DO HAVE THE STRONGEST BACK AND BROADEST SHOULDERS OF ANYMAN I HAVE EVER MET. GOD BLESSED ME WITH YOU BEING MY PARTNER AND FRIEND. JESS AND WILL MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU.

I pray for the famiily of Trooper Green in this time of loss. Too many fine officers are being taken away from their family and community. I know he is in the company of some very fine angels who served on the streets of earth as he did. No doubt they will continue to watch over and protect us all. God bless and give comfort to those left behind.
