A year ago on this day, my oldest brother was on call about a suspicious car on I-270 right outside Atlanta, GA...not knowing that would be his last call. He layed his life down to the work he enjoyed and he is now a blue angel. There is nothing I can say to Trooper Patrick's family to ease the pain, because the pain really never goes away. I'm still dealing with it a year later, but just know that there are family and friends around to help you when you need help. The pain will soon start to ease and you will be able to get on and move on, and think about what a wonderful man he must of been without crying. He is now patrolling the streets with my brother and they both will watch all of us and protect us from evil. Just trust in the Lord and you should be able to get through this. I pray for you and your family this holiday season, I know how it is going to be. Godspeed Trooper Patrick.....

In ancient Greece there was a battle at a small mountain pass called Thermopylae. The Persian king sent 250,000 men to invade Greece. The Greeks sent 300 of their finest warriors along with some rag tag slaves to defend the pass. After three days the Persians had not attacked so the Greeks sent a spy to see what the Persians were doing. The spy returned and said, "When the Persian archers fire their arrows, it blocks out the sun!" A Greek warrior laughed and replied, "Excellent! We'll have our battle in the shade!" Trooper Patrick, God Bless, we the warriors who remain will continue the battle, never forgetting your sacrifice.

Godbless you my fellow brother. May you rest in peace.

THE POLICEMAN'S LAST ROLL CALL ...

THE POLICEMAN STOOD AND FACED HIS GOD, WHICH MUST ALWAYS COME TO PASS. HE
HOPED HIS SHOES WERE SHINING, JUST AS BRIGHTLY AS HIS BRASS. "STEP FORWARD
NOW, POLICEMAN. HOW SHALL I DEAL WITH YOU? HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED THE OTHER
CHEEK? TO MY CHURCH HAVE YOU BEEN TRUE?"

THE POLICEMAN SQUARED his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint. I've had to
work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I've been
violent because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny that
wasn't mine to keep, though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just
got to steep. And I never passed a cry for help, though times I shook with
fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept many unmanly tears. I know I
don't deserve a place among the people here, they never wanted me around
except to calm their fear. If you've a place for me Lord, it needn't be so
grand. I never expected or had too much, but if you don't, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod. As
the policeman waited quietly, for the judgement of his God. "Step forward
now, policeman, you've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's
streets, you've done your time in hell."
