Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Corporal Thomas Roberts

It seems so long ago, Tom that you and I attended the academy together. I remember them telling us at some point that someone from our class was possibly going to die during his/her career. I guess I never thought it would be you. If I am not mistaken our graduation anniversary is today, 12/22. It seems like so long ago. I'm sure you are under the care of God and in a much better place than we are. Rest, Brother.

A Brother Warrior has fell and died today in battle.

This Brother Warrior has made the ultimate sacrifice.

He has given his life for his Fellow Warriors, his family and friends too.

Brother Warrior, pass your sword to us, so we can keep your spirit alive.

You, my Brother Warrior will not be forgotten.

God Bless you, your family and your friends.

We honor and respect all of the Fallen Warriors who have gone before us.

We ask you, Brother Warriors to guide us, protect us and pray for us.

We will meet again my Brother Warriors.

For this time not to fight another battle, but to live in eternal peace.

God bless all of the Warriors, past, present and future.

What is a HERO?

One Who Never Hesitates To Tackle The Most Difficult Problems..

One Who Is Always By Your Side..

One Who Knows Right From Wrong..

One Who Acts With Pride..

A Hero Touches Every One Of Us,

Whether It Be Word Or Deed..

Always Tending To Those Who Find Themselves In Need..

I give you this one thought to keep
I am with you still-- I do not slepp.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autum rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift,uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone-
I am with you still- in each new dawn.

To the biggest come bettor in Mishawaka. Thanks for the good times Tommy. I will never watch another Notre Dame game without thinking of you. I respected you more than most because of the way you treated people on and off the clock. The world would be a better place with more officers like you. May God look over you and your family. Godspeed my friend.

The urgent calling of nature longs to be tested, seeks to be challenged beyond itself. The warrior within us beseeches Mars, the god of War, to deliver us to that crucial battlefield that will redeem us into the terrifying immediacy of the moment. We want to face our Goliath so we may be reminded that the warrior David is alive, in us. We pray to the war gods to guide us to the walls of Jerrico so we may dare the steadfastness and strength of our trumpet call. We aspire to be defeated in battle by powers so much greater than ourselves, so that the defeat itself will have made us larger than when we arrived. We long for the encounter that will ultimately empower us with dignity and honor....Be not mistaken: the longing is there and it's terrible and beautiful and tragic. (by Richard Heckler)
