Reflections for Deputy Sheriff John Dennis
No passage of time can ever erase your service and sacrifice. Rest in peace always.

John Dennis was a first cousin to my Grandfather Ira A. Dennis of Paoli, Ok.. My Grandfather was the one who talked him into moving to the new state of Oklahoma from Texas... He stayed with my Grandfather until he got the job in Wewoka and moved there..I'm personally glad his killer got his just desserts...A group of deputies saw him shoot my cousin, so in reality there was no need for a trial...He was guilty and he was lynched....end of story..

John Dennis was my great grandfather; I have researched his history, his parents, and his grandparents, and would like to know further back in the family history. If anyone has information further back than the 1804 birthdate of John Dennis grandfather, I would like to see it.
