Reflections for Trooper Tony Michael Lumley

I just want to thank everyone for all the kind things said and done. We just had the 2nd Annual Trooper Tony Lumley Memorial Ride this past weekend and the turnout was great. For those of you who don't know this ride raises money for Tony's girls (Nikki,Brooke). The money goes into a trust fund controlled by myself and my dad.

We would like thank everyone that participated and contributed this past weekend and for all the well wishers. Tony we miss you and love you brother.

My best of wishes are out to all of the Lumley family. I have known Tony ever since I was born and he has been one of the nicest and funniest guys that I have ever known. We will all miss seeing Tony at the family reunions and he will always be in our hearts.

I would like to thank everyone for all the comments and great things they have had to say about Tony, also all the support and well wishes expressed to my family and myself. It's been a year and a half and it still hard to deal with. So many rollercoaster rides of up and downs. It is obvious that if you ever met him you definetly could never forget him. This has by far been the biggest obstacle of my life. Not a day goes by that I don't think about Tony and miss him terribly. We very fortunate to be close and have a close bonded family. We talked everyday and was always cutting up and doing things together

Tony I wish I could talk to you just one more time and tell you how proud I am of you and how much I Love You! Thankfully I still have all the good times to remember and laugh about. I love you brother and miss you.

Dear Tony,

I was just reading all the nice things people had to say about you. It makes me proud and sad at the same time. We miss you so much. The boys talk about you all the time. When something is said a certain way or done a certain way one of them will say remeber when Uncle Tony did that. It always brings us to tears and laughter. You brought so much joy to our family. You were loved by all who knew you. You are missed. Rest on my buddy.

A man who anyone would have been proud to call his/her son, dad, husband, or friend. Tony was an example of what all troopers everywhere should aspire to be like. I am proud to wear the same uniform that he wore so well. He is missed, always......

Trooper, I never knew you. But I dont have to personally know you to know what kind of Trooper you were. The proof is in your actions and the reflections left here by your Brothers-in -Arms. I was working the night you left us, and though I never knew you I mourned your loss. I have a great respect for the Troopers but I have an even greater respect for the wives, children, and families of any law enforcement officer.

I pay my respect to you and your family sir, if there is anything I, my Team, or my Department could ever do call on us.

"T", I sometimes feel like I let you down, I wish I knew if you heard me that night in the ambulance. I would give anything if I could hear you say "Come on now, talk to Tony". I promise you that I will always be there for Misti and the girls, whenever and for whatever they need. Mike and I will never be able to or try to replace you as "daddy" but we WILL be there for them. Serena and McKenzie miss you nearly as much as I do. They have had some sad moments but they always smile when I mention the "dance" or some other junk that we were in to. I will never forget you brother and I hope you look in on us from time to time.

I only knew tony for a short while before his heroic death. I have the Chapman family to thank for introducing me to the lumley family. I'd see tony around (or at Mac's), and he'd always make sure I was staying out of trouble. He always had a way of making me feel better, sometimes without actually letting me know he was helping me. And man did he love his family! My heart dropped the day he passed, but I knew that he died a hero. It was amazing how many people came to mourn his loss. It is true he never met a stranger. He will always be remembered as a hero and one who made you smile! To Misty and the girls: You're in my thoughts and prayers always. God bless you!

I was there on that fateful night......just fifty feet behind you. You were as brave as an officer could be. You made the ultimate sacrifice. Bravery is an understatement. You are a hero. You took a violent felon off the streets......and for that, the world is grateful! The officers of Clayton County Police were/are proud to have you as a "brother!" God bless Trooper Lumley, his family, all of GSP, and all the brothers in blue!

"You Line up with your new partner,
Fallen hero's no longer in rank.
You begged the crowd to give you space,
You held your friend as your heart sank.
They lived for peace, but died by the sword.
God is love, Soldiers of war!"
