Reflections for Sergeant Jeffry Todd Edelson
In loving memory of Sgt. Edelson:
We may never understand it,
the risks these brave ones take,
but occasionally we see a bit
of the difference their lives make.
Some do it for the action,
others find it a callin'.
All find the satisfaction,
and few become the fallen.
Being an officer is what he loved,
To him as good as it gets.
Law was what he dreamed of,
He would have no regrets.
And though it saddens all of us
to lose him in this way
He knew how an officer must
Live life to the fullest everyday.
Remembering you on the anniversary of your departure.
Your friends and family are in my thoughts. . . if only I could erase your pain. From one coast of America to
the other,

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Edelson and Lynda,
Two months after Survivor's Weekend, I continue to reflect on the strength you drew from within to allow yourselves to participate in such a 'raw' weekend. Thank you for sharing not only your time but, more importantly, your son & brother. Jeffry became 'bigger than life' for me through the video presentation. I can only imagine the energy he brought to a room when he entered...the pictures alone sent out his love for life. Tomorrow, and ongoingly, I will be thinking of you and Jeffry. I wish for you some peaceful moments. Warm thoughts, Deb Parisian

The prayers and thoughts from all of us go out to the men and women of the NYSP on the loss of Sgt Edelson. We may wear different uniforms but we all come together for one reason. May we all take some time out of our busy days to remember the hard work and dedication of Sgt Edelson. May you rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.

Sergeant Edelson,
No words can describe the void left at SP Liberty. Not a day goes by you aren't thought of. I can still hear your unmistakable footsteps down the hall, your chiming in to say good morning. I will always have a special place for you - and your trial notices. My thoughts, prayers and love go out to your parents and your sister. I know how much they will miss you. I am privileged to say that I worked with you, but am more honored to say you were my friend. Godspeed Sergeant. You will never be forgotten.

most people would tell you that law enforcement is a dangerous job. i never listened. I was always afriad when there was a domestic call or when i heard dispatch say use caution with someone. My husband was a little man but his size never mattered to him. He wanted to be a policeman, he wanted to make the small town we lived in a safe place for everyone. i never thought that directing traffic would be the worst thing that he could do. I just want to say to all the officers that read this "To be careful out there and watch out for other drivers and be careful so you can go home to your family" GOD BLESS

SGT Jeff 2714, You will be missed tremendously and you will never be forgotten. I will always remember our study sessions and our daily conversations in the "back room" about everything from job related things to personal family topics. You're thought of every day. You made a positive impact wherever you went and with everyone you met. Your friendship will be sorely missed and the memories treasured forever.

Sergeant Edelson -- It was always a pleasure working with you. You always gave enforcement 100% effort. Your sense of humor always helped us out, even after your passing. You can rest easy, much as Sullivan County rested easy on your watch. We will take it from here in your memory.
