Do not stand at my grave and Cry
I am not there, I did not die.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
When you awake in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
of quiet birds encircled flight,
I am the bright star that shines at night,
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Heartfelt condolences to your family
and colleagues. May Gob bless you.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall gently upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hands

I hate it.... each time I see a new face on this page...
It never seems to stop...
The one thing we all know for sure
there will be another...
We just don’t know where, who or when...
To my brothers and sisters in the Clifton Police Department,
To the friends and family of Police Officer John Samra,
My deepest sympathy...
Rest in peace Brother...
You leave us with a reminder,
Tomorrow is never guaranteed.
I post this in your Honor...

BLUE AUTUMN
By: Marc A. Turner-Copyright/2000

That day was like others nothing special at all
We passed one another said hi in the hall
We took it for granted that nothing would change
But then, time seemed to gel, it felt surely strange

Suddenly the news struck with lightening heat
Officer down, my heart skipped a beat
See we’re all brothers that hang from the same family tree
But today, it was your turn; your leaf was blown free

We finally break rank and most walk away
They turn to look back, just a few there still stay
The ones from your squad still stand by and stare
Not able to leave, a pain they all share

The crowd is all gone and the wind shakes the trees
The tears start to fall like the dry autumn leaves
Why was it you and not one of them?
A question they’ll ask again and again

So now when we see our brother go by
Why not take a second to say more than just hi
Tomorrow might be too late, don’t you see
Who’s leaf will be next… blown from the tree…?

Nothing can replace your officer, but he will never be forgotten. To his loved ones, his friends, and his brothers and sisters of the badge, I offer my heartfelt condolences. I can only hope that someday the memories you carry of him from happier times will ease the pain you feel today.
I give my heartfelt thanks to the brave citizens who helped apprehend his attacker, and I pray that the coward who did this terrible thing gets the maximum penalty he deserves.
Your officer will always be remembered for the hero he is, for he did not lose his life-he gave it in service.
Bless him, and all of you who knew him.

Ofc Samra stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining, Just as brightly as his brass

"Step forward, now, policeman how shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?

Ofc Samra squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was rough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just to steep

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept many unmanly tears

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among these people here,
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fear

If you've a place for me lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand"

There was silence all around the throne,
Where the Saints had often trod.
As Ofc Samra waited quietly,
For the judgement of his God

"Step forward, now, Policeman,
you've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell.

God Bless you Brother,
We've got the watch from here...
