Reflections for Patrolman Ivan Belka
Grandfather, though I never had the privilege of meeting you my father told me many stories of you. He especially enjoyed fishing with you in Mill Creek which ran through the property outside of Colville, WA. He told me he was upset that you didn’t wake him that fateful morning to ride with you in your cruiser into Spokane as you had promised and he waited all day for you to return. Thank you for your service and sacrifice and to all others who have served, sacrificed, and honored those who gave all. Special thanks to all who have left their sincere comments.

We lost another Washington State Trooper recently. Always so sad when we lose a native son. We remember all of our Troopers and promise we will never forget any of you. God bless you sir.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 62nd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
