Reflections for Police Officer Micah Corey Brown

Micah,

Hello, my brother as a former police Sergeant with MARTA and having worked for the department for close to sixteen years. I was sadden when I heard about your accident and even more so when I heard that you would not be able to put that beautiful blue uniform on one more time. But then I smiled because I remember there were times when I never wanted to take mine off. I just wanted to fall a sleep in it. Little brother you have given the ultimate sacrifice as a police officer. So sleep well in that beautiful blue uniform that you worn so well here on this planet and for the department. And thanks for sharing your time, love, kindness, and sprituality with those who had the opportunity to share time with you. I only have one more thing to say little brother and that is, "Gone to soon" Tell, the others save me a space in the patrol vehicle. (-:

As a former Atlanta resident and MARTA rider, I extend my appreciation and condolences to the family of Officer Brown and the MARTA Police. You do one helluva good job keeping the rails and buses safe, and it's tragic that it has to come at so high a cost. God bless you all.

Micah you were loved by everyone you came in contact with. you told your friends i was the one but no sweetheart you were the one. you had so much strength and found good in everyone. you taught me a lot about life, love moreso you taught me about God and spirituality. Micah before you went home I told you that I was devoting my life to God. look down on me my love and be proud. I love you Micah.

Micah Brown was everybody's friend. He lived life with a contagious smile...and when we weren't smiling he infected us with a hilarious story or an imitation. Micah told that life was too short to waste. HEY Micah don't wear God out with all those hillarious jokes. No more worries and no more cares and a smile to brighten any day! We miss you. May God bless you our brother in blue.

The policeman stood to face his God, which must always come to pass.

He hoped his boots were shining, just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, Policeman. How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulder's and said. "No Lord, I guess I ain't,

Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint."

I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough,

and sometimes I've been violent, because the streets are awfully tough.

"But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep...

Though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got too steep.."

And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear.

And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.

They never wanted me around except to calm their fear."

"If you've got a place for me here Lord, It needn't be so grand.

I never expected or had too much, but if you don't...I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne where the saints often trod.

As the policeman waited quietly, for the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, Policeman. You've borne your burdens well.

Come walk a beat in Heaven's streets, you've done your time in Hell."

"One Final Salute" by Lt. J.A. Player

Green as can be and gung-ho as they come
With an attitude to match, that you’re second to none.
Looking real sharp in that dark blue suit
I give you, my friend, my best salute.

Why take a job that scares our mothers?
Always the inevitable answer, “I want to help others”.
Learning laws, routines and how to shoot
I give you, my friend, my best salute.

Through all kinds of weather and all types of calls
Doing your best and giving your all.
With sweat on your brow and mud on your boot
I give you, my friend, my best salute.

With the lesson you taught us, oh how our hearts burn.
Never to forget it, your lesson we’ll learn.
To say these words now, the point does seem moot,
I give you, my friend, my best salute.

And now you have joined the greatest platoon.
Centurions for God, we’ll see you soon.
And from the oldest flatfoot to the newest recruit
We give you, our brother, one final salute.

Rest in Peace Micah. Keep an eye out for us.
