Bruce,

You've fulfilled the purpose God sent you here for...so now he's called you home! Congratulations my friend! You're patrolling the streets of Heaven...an assignment we should all strive for.

We'll all do our best to "FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT" in your honor. We can not, will not, give up. I know you would be here now encouraging us to go on with our duties. We will make you proud Bruce...all of us!

My heart goes out to your family. It is their faith in God that will get them (all of us) through this.

Proud to have served with you...proud to have called you friend.

My heart goes out for Bruce's four girls. They will always be in my thought but more importantly in my prayers. God's strong loving arms will always be tightly wrapped around them.
Oh how you are missed Goose. Words can not describe the pain. You were an amazing man. But we have to remember that you are at the perfect place, HEAVEN. I picture you standing in Heaven at God's side with that smirk(only you could make) on your face looking down into the fires of Hell and saying, "Look who won now!"
How can we go on with all this pain....because that's what Bruce would've wanted us to do. Don't take the easy way out and give up. Turn to the Lord's love for comfort and strength... "Take it to the Lord in prayer." That is what Bruce would want from you now and always.
Stand strong and proud. Always remember 42.

Officer Williams,
I did not know you, we did not ever meet.
Mutual "friends" I'm sure we have.

It is the bond of brotherhood that keeps you in my heart,
for the same streets only several counties apart do I walk.

You will forever be "backup" to all of us in blue, looking over us, as someone else once did for you.

God needs you now,
some of those "friends" of ours in heaven must be getting rowdy. You have been promoted,
Bodyguard to the big man himself high in the heavens.

God bless.

Sauk Prairie Police Dept.

How awful. Sadly enough, this happens to far too many of our finest. Thank you, Deputy Willams, for your bravery and selflessness in conducting your duties. May you rest in peace and may God Bless your wonderful family during these hard times.

Goose,
We had your funeral yesterday. Your family and friends filled the church, the streets, and the city, but nothing can ever really show how much you touched each and every one of our lives. This place will never be the same. You were truly an original and the emptiness we feel with your death can never be filled. Every green lawn, softball game, shiny head and bad joke will remind me of you. All I want to say and feel, I can't put into words. What can I say but the office is empty without you here. I can't believe you're gone.

Our memories of you will always bring laugher to our hearts, even as it brings tears to our eyes.

Today is another day that we need to stand together a little closer.
My deepest sympathy to your Family and Department.
Please hold your heads up and be proud.
Don't let them know that they are winning, for then we have lost.
Rest in Peace my brother.

We have lost a special person. I am so proud to have known you all these years as we have grown from our high school years through our law enforcement career together. I can remember all the conversations we had, on how hard it was to be a cop in the community we grew up in. I watched you and how you handled it. You always knew what to say or do and I tried to follow your every move.

This past year you and I became partners on the ERT entry team. I cannot be any prouder and grateful for the times we got to work together.

Bruce the hearts of the four ladies in your life is hurting now. I promise I will do what ever I can to tell them about their daddy and husband for years to come.

I just can not imagine how difficult it is going to be this spring when I look over my shoulder from third base and not see you out in left field, or hear your famous words at the end of each inning, “hustle in, hustle out.” And now there will be no more homerun contests between us. I know that each time one does go over the fence it is because you are up there helping me.

Do not worry about your fruit trees. I will take care of them and when that first pear grows I will remind your daughter that the pear is from her daddy in heaven.

Rest in peace my friend, and please protect us as we carry on our work in your name.

Bruce-

When I get some money saved up, I will buy some soda to stock the fridge. Or else, I will treat for a trip to Dunkin' Donuts. The Berlin Park Crew will always have a special bond. The Saturday morning open gyms, the softball games, were more fun because of you and your charm. You are respected and loved by more people than one can count. Your accurate jump shot (although not pretty), your towering home runs (with your special gait around the bases) will be missed. Most importantly, your compassion and dedication to your family, job, and friends will be missed. Your brother, Deputy Michael Williams, as well as your other brothers in blue will continue to carry the torch to make you proud. God bless all of you, peace men.

Having worked as dispatcher since 1979 I have always helded my breathe so to speak when I dispatched officer to these types of calls. As we all are aware domestic violence calls are one of the most dangerous calls that we respond to. So when we lose one of our people during these types of calls we also lose a since of respect for our fellow mankind. Do not let this person actions take away from the memory of this officer. For he represents all that is good about what we do. Deputy Williams went to work everyday with sense he was doing something good, and productive with his life. Always carry these memories with you and live by them and all the Officer that have left us will not be forgotten.
