Although I do not know Deputy Mazur personally, he works with my son who said that he was an excellent Law Enforcement Officer, husband and son. He will be missed by the Law Enforcement community in South Carolina and our nation. Deputy Mazur was a young, ambitious person whos contributions to our society had just begun. The persons he touched in his short life will never be really known because he touched all all. God bless you and your family.

Corporal Dean Johnson
Palm Beach County (FL) Sheriff's Office

Rest in peace brother in blue.
The watch is ours now.

God bless your family.

The policeman stood and faced his God,which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?
The policeman squared his shoulders and said.
"No, I guess I ain't because those of us who carry a badge can't always be a Saint."
I've had to work most Sundays
and at times my talk is rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep...
though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got to steep.
And I never passed a cry for help
though at times I shook with fear,
and sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.
They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much, but if you don't...I'll understand"
There was a silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman.
You've borne you burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets.
You've done your time in Hell"

ANDREW IT WAS A RAINY SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN WEST GREENVILLE WHEN THIS SENCELESS INCIDENT TOOK PLACE. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED AS THE GO-GETTER. DREW WE WILL MISS SEEING YOU WALK INTO ROLL CALL CARRYING YOUR COFFEE. I WAS OFF THIS DAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HOW MANY FELLOW DEPUTIES PULLED TOGETHER TO FIND THIS GUY. YOU DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE IN WEST GREENVILLE. DREW YOU WILL BE MISSED... I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE TIME WE SPENT TOGETHER ON DELTA PLATOON. LIVE ON FOREVER D-38. YOU ARE NOW PATROLLING A MUCH BETTER BEAT THEN WEST GREENVILLE. R.I.P.

DEPUTY A.S. RUSSELL
GREENVILLE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Once again I come to this site and find another name added to the list...and once again I shed tears thinking of how it could easily be one of my guys one day. No officer wakes up in the morning thinking today is the day he goes to work w/o coming home to his family...and I'm sure when Deputy Mazur decided to check out this suspicious person he didn't think that it would end his life. I hope and pray that his co-workers stay safe while bringing this cold-blooded killer to justice. God bless you, Deputy Mazur...may you find peace now on your beat in Heaven.
