Steve,

Members of the Special Enforcement Bureau worked non stop searching for your killer who so cowardly stole you from our family. We feel some comfort in knowing the suspect was located and did not take another member of our family even though he tried. Rest in peace, you will always be remembered for your work in the community to make a difference. Rest in peace

My heart goes out to those who have had to deal with this awful loss. I pray that God will comfort you and keep you strong. Deputy Sorenson I pray that you now have the peace and rest that you so richly deserve. I have a brother in blue that arrived on scene just ahead of you. Officer Douglas Wendell ended his watch 7-31-03. I know the two of you will be friends. Also, I have one of your brothers from LA County in my care now. I dispatch for him and I vow I will do my best to keep him safe. God Bless You All.

I attended Deputy Sorensen's Funeral this morning. In attendance were over 2,000 Police officers,Gov. Gray Davis,Sheriff Lee Baca and others. He is truly missed. He was our "town Sheriff" & he did a great job, giving back to his community. Many people that were at the memorial commented that he was a resident first, then a deputy. His presence in our community will be missed for years to come. The formal announcement that our city park will be renamed in his honor occured today as well. This will help us to remember Deputy Stephen Sorensen,a true hero.
God Bless.

Dear Warrior, I'm sadened to know that we have lost another officer in the line of duty. But, you did what you do because you chose it. You chose to walk the thin blue line between warrior and servant and we are grateful for your sacrifice. May God provide your family with swift closure in their loss, and to yourself, swift winds to your next assignment in heaven, as you walk those streets under his command. A huge reward is awaiting you. In the meantime, please watch over us and the remaining peace officers that will continue the watch in your absence. Goodnight sir.
