Hey - been awhie since I've posted a reflection. Thought of you alot this past week. I was in our three day block training and during one of the training segments the trainer showed a video of a deputy fighting a bad guy to get his gun back. Well you know the outcome, the deputy was shot but still kept fighting, Just like you. I really wish I could have been there to help you that day. Love ya

On 08/02/09 following briefing, the Lt. gathered his squad and others who were on the road. We all met at 272 and Pacific Highway. We lit up the area with our lights and sirens for 30 seconds in memory of you. Pat you will never be forgotten.

Pat,

Hard to believe another anniversary has come and gone.

Yesterday, on the 2nd, I was at the beach with friends and, with Bailey's Irish Cream we turned to the ocean and remembered you.

As sailboats passed I remembered the times you and Elaine took me out on your boat when you lived in Barnegat. They are such good memories.

Pat, you are missed. You are remembered. As mom celebrates her anniversary today, give her a hug from each of us. And, if dad is nearby, give him one too.

Much love,

Pat - you are never far from our thoughts as we go on with our everyday lives. Know that you are thought of and missed more than you can imagine. Give mom and dad a huge hug from me. It's hard to believe that it's been 6 years already. Keep watch over our family.
Love,

Pat,

On this night I am sitting in my patrol car doing the job you loved, doing the job you gsve your life for and hoping that the lives you saved have valued your sacrifice.

Our faith convinces us that our Lord's plan is for us to follow even if we do not know what it is or why we are dropped into such a nightmare. Our faith convinces me that you, police officer or not, would have helped that victim that fateful day. You would never have turned your back.

Our family continues to heal with you close in our hearts. You, my very brave brother are never forgotten. We will all be together next weekend and we will toast your life in great Irish fashion.

Much love,

Mary

Patrick,

Police Memorial Week is here and America pays tribute to its heroic sentries who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to the public.

Every night before I go 10-8, I smile back at your mug taped on my locker door and I strive to serve with the integrity and dignity you did.

I miss and love you brother. Always Shall.

Pat,
As I worked day shift today on Christmas, I had many thoughts of you, of all the good times we shared together in the Coast Guard, the day we met in Disney with the families years ago, and the many phone calls we shared over the years.
I miss you buddy, you always had the right words to get me through the tough times.

Thanks for watching over us!!

Hey Pat,
Five years + and yet the reflections continue.

Speaks volumes of a being the "Man of Men".

Coast Guard Reservist Manny Greenwald spoke very highly of you. He admired your Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty with times spent together in the Coast Guard. Both he and his wife Carol were heart broken of your untimely departure.

Before his passing in 2005, Manny (then age 94) always reminded me to be on guard....his fatherly advice still rings.

So today, while checking another Fallen Warrior, your beautiful smile popped upon this screen, and thus another reflection.

You will never be forgotten Pat.... you are truly a Man of Men and a continuous inspiration for me to follow.

SEMPER PARATUS Shipmate!

Sincerely,

As your 5 year anniversay approached I spent some time thinking of what to write on this page. What most people didn't know but the day that you were taken from us was one day shy of our mother's anniversary of her death (Aug 3, 1973). We were together that awful day. I was 7 and you were 16. That was such a long time ago. We grew up with a major piece of our lives gone. We had dad, but still with all of lifes wonderful and sad events, she was not there. So, knowing that you are all together somehow makes this tragidy a little more easy.

Keep watch over our family. Like I have said before, we may have forgiven what has happened to you, but we will never forget. Help us to continue to live our lives with a purpose, never to take for granted those who mean the most to us.

Much Love,
Peggy

PS Katie still remembers you going into the jumper at her birthday party. She still talks about that and Disneyland. Great memories for her made in such a short time.

Martin,

Although we have never met in person, I have been by your side at our National Police Memorial several times. You see, you and my son share the honor on that same east wall at the National Police meorial. In fact my son Michael, died in the line of duty on August 02, 2006. Your beloved sister, Sgt. Mary Huggins, came to our side that tearful day in 2006 when Michael passed to eternity and helped us through those incredible days that followed. She came beside us during this most difficult time for her and put her arms around us literally holding us up through those tragic days. Little did we know at that time on August 02 that she was giving us a hug from you. I have heard so much about you and have met men from your department who continue to pay thier most respectful memories of your fine service. Brother, your life was honorable. Our prayers continue to be uplifted to your family as they continue to be seperated from their brave loved one. Rest my friend!

You are so on my mind this week. I just realized I am sitting in the same exact spot as when I got the dreaded phone call from Rich. I sometimes still cannot believe this entire event, the loss of such a great life.

As your five year anniversary approaches, I have to say how grateful I am to have shared so much with such a great person. I value those years so much growing up and then the move to NJ. You, Elaine, Mandy and Nathan, such a great addition to the east cost family. I always admired you and Elaine and really looked up to you both, big brother and sister. Thank you for always taking that role. Thanks for being there!

I pray that you are enjoying your tour on those golden streets. Please keep looking over my shoulder as well as Jim's as we continue to hold the thin blue line.

To my brothers and sisters in blue in Federal Way, please hit the air horn a few times for me as you parade for Pat. I wish I could be there to see it.

Pat, you are thought of often and hold a special place in all of our hearts.

Lots of love,

Mary
