Well Daddy, this July will make 16 years you’re gone... Things have changed a lot in those years. First off, I’m in my second year of nursing school. Another big thing is Mom got remarried to an amazing man named Byron(B) a couple of years ago. But the most recent thing is brother is going to be a dad himself this month. He and Danielle are going to have a baby boy at the end of the month. I have a gut feeling he’s going to share a birthday with you, and don’t worry we already know he has a Harrelson head. Last year I got my best birthday present, Mom and B got me a pillow made out of one of your old sweatshirts. I can’t sleep a night without it, even in the summer when it makes me sweaty. I wish I could remember you for myself. All I have is what everyone tells me of you...

Woody,
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you, but for some reason today you are heavy on my mind. That is why I am writing on your page. Just thinking of all the good memories we made. From Taekwondo to the Kingfish and in between. I still tell the story of you parking your unit in my drive way and pretending to chase me around my house. I would love to know the stories my neighbors made up about why I was being pursued. LOL. I hope all is well up in the sky. Miss you my friend.

Its hard to believe that 5 years have gone by. It seems like only yesterday you and Chaney were around. Both of you made this world a better place. I know you made your families proud. But your friends felt proud to have known you both. Your goodness and memory with last forever. May God continue to Bless your family and friends.

Woody,
Here we are nearing the 5th Anniversary of your death and we still miss you so much everyday! Since you're gone Darryl and I have brought a BEAUTIFUL daughter, Aubree into this world. She is almost 8 months now and we know you are watching over her and us. We chose Melissa as her Godmother and she is such a great "Nanny". We know you must be proud of her and of the kids. Collin is becoming such a fine young man and Hailey is still your lil princess! Life here on earth will never be the same for them, we know, but we know you are watching over them and taking care of them. We love Melissa, Collin, and Hailey with all of our hearts as we know you do too! And even though our baby girl Aubree never got to meet you, please know that she will know her Uncle Woody as she grows. We visit you often and even though she doesn't understand yet, we tell her "that's where Uncle Woody lives." We Love and miss you very much! RIP Brother-in-law!

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

It's hard to believe it's over 4 years already. I remember like it was yesterday, you were giving me & Angel advice. Always looking out for us. each time someone asks me about Angel & I's friendship, it brings back sooo many good memories. You're always in my thoughts and prayers. Maybe you can still have some influence on your kid sister & form a friendship for us again. I MISS your family so much. I know you're still looking down on us. You have to see your wonderful children grow. REST IN PEACE.
LOVE ALWAYS,
