Happy Birthday, Richie. I still remember the last birthday party we had for you. You were having so much fun sitting on your end stool while we all gathered around you. I keep that vision of you smiling with me to try and stop the tears sometimes….especially these days…wow! I don’t know what you’re thinking but I can imagine what you would have said…
Have some icing-less cake on me…oh yeah, and pull some strings for Peck on some more healing...
Love you always,

Today would have been 20 years for us. I look back and remember our very special day. The weather did not cooperate but our wedding day was perfect in every other way. I still have people tell me it was the best wedding they have ever been to. We were so young and happy with wonderful dreams in our hearts. I miss you and hope you are celebrating! We all love you.

Hey Bubba...
I was trying to leave you a note on July 28, but we were super busy at work that day...image that in LG Twp.
I had a baby boy, Frankie, and he was 10 lbs, 6 oz! I find myself calling him Bubba sometimes because he's so big and strong.
Thinking of you while driving around the township tonight...
Love, Shan

While vacationing in the Outer Banks last week I observed a vehicle with a license plate that honored P.O. Richard Lawn. I spoke to to the officers brother-in-law and he told me how Rich had died responding to an emergency call several years earlier. This simple tribute I am sure has been seen by many people like me who never knew him but now reflect on his service and sacrifice. We toasted him at dinner that night and our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Your Peanut turned 16 yesterday. You would be so proud of her...she definately has your laid back disposition and your sunny outlook. She's just so much fun to be around. Watch out for her while she starts learning to drive(watch out for us too - yipes)and keep her safe. We love and miss you.

It has been 6 long years but I relieve that day like it was just yesterday. Every minute is clear as day. We still miss you so much and could use your strong shoulders right now! Please help us be as strong as you always were and stay close. Jimmy Johnson of the Eagles passed away today too and I'm sure you were there to greet him and talk football! We love and miss you always.

Hey dad!
I know I haven't written in a while and I just wanted to let you know I love you and miss you very much. I have my first semester of college under my belt and every time I got stressed about grades, I could hear you voice telling me to just do my best and have fun. The other day that "Who wrote the book of love" song came on the radio and it reminded me of when you used to sing that to me before I went to bed. I know you are watching over our whole family and I know that you will keep them safe. I think about you everyday and I feel so blessed to have had you in my life. Say hi to Tara, Pa, Uncle Matthew, Uncle John, and Mr. pifer for me. Love you.

My Brother"
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was idealistic and believed he could make a difference.
He was immensely proud of the uniform and the badge and what they represent.
He felt privileged to be of service to his department, his community and to his country.
He was a cop.
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was friendly, courteous, and polite, yet firm.
He laughed and joked, but was serious when necessary.
He was competent, trained, and professional.
He was a cop.
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He had a strong sense of right and wrong and became
frustrated when true justice became sidetracked.
He felt the sharp criticism that goes with the job, but he
never wavered.
He stood by and for his fellow officers.
He was a cop.
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He longed for his family during the long hours.
He worried about them during his shifts and the lonely
weekends, holidays and midnights when they were apart.
He felt guilty about the lost time, but knew his calling
and prayed they would understand.
He was a cop.
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was a good son, a loving husband, and a devoted father.
He was dedicated to the profession and cared about the
people he served.
He wanted to do the best job that he could and strived to
be the best he could be.
He was a good citizen and a good neighbor.
He was a cop.
Yes, I did know him.
He was a cop, he was my Brother.
Rest easy Brother, we have the watch...
