Hi Bubba!
You've been on my mind today and I wanted to say hi.
As I'm sure you know, my kiddos are athletes and I think you'd be proud. Sophia is just finishing her freshman year in highschool and is a phenomenal softball player. She has worn #6 since she started in T-ball 10 years ago without any encouragement from me. It's her favorite number and once she was old enough to understand I told her it was your badge number. Frankie is a beast at football and we still call him Bubba. I haven't told him that was your nickname yet because I don't think he'll get it just yet. He wants to go to Penn State and play for the NFL.
I finish my 20th year at LGPD July 31 and can't believe this much time has gone by. I know when you're at the station because I can hear you and feel you. Some of the guys think I'm nuts, and some believe me.... Rex was with me that one time standing by the new police car....
Stay with me Bubba...some days I need your strength.
Love,
Shan

Dad,
Grandmom joined you a week ago. Yesterday was her funeral and it was such a hard day. We miss her so much! I know that you are so thankful to have her back with you, especially since today is Mother's Day. I am sure you have spent all this past week showing her around heaven. I am sure you have been showing her the ropes and all the great places to hang out with. I find comfort in knowing that she is back with you. I miss you both so much and life is never going to be the same without both of you. I love you!
Love, Kelly

Your mom joined you.....I'm sure it was an unbelievable reunion! Nothing compares to a mother's love. We mourn here but rejoice that she is with you and God in paradise.

Dad,
In less than two months I am getting married! :) Its hard to believe that you will not be there to walk me down the aisle. I asked Mom and Connor to walk me down the aisle, but no one could ever take your place. I know that you will be there in spirit, but it's not the same... I have a charm for my bouquet, so at least your picture will be walking with me.
I really wish that you could have met Tyler. He is such a great guy and I know that you two would get along so well! He makes me so happy and I know you're proud of him, as well. I can only hope he's half as great of a husband and father as you!
Please keep watching out for me and helping me get through this crazy, roller coaster of a time that I am currently in. I love you so much and miss you every day!
Love,
Kelly

Dad,
My freshman year at Penn State is coming to an end and all I can think about how much you would of loved to come visit me and go to the games. I can just picture you screaming at the tv and throwing your foam brick while watching the games. I hope I am making you proud as I continue my journey through college. You would be so amazed at how strong mom has become over the years. Katie has become such an amazing mother to your grandson. I'm sure you're just as excited as I am to see Kelly become a bride. Connor is doing great at West Chester. I bet you're so proud of the amazing young man he has become. We all miss you so much and wish you could be here but I know you are watching over us as we grow. I love you Daddy. Fly high my angel.

Another year has passed and today is a bright sunny day like it was 12 years ago. Time has gone by but it stills hurts. I remember that day like it was yesterday and yet it was like a whirlwind at the same time. We have 2 more new guys and I told them all about you. I start my 15th yr in a few days and I trained them like you trained me.... To be confident regardless of my size. Thank you for that. I feel your presence at work and it makes me feel protected. Some of the guys think I'm nuts, but I know you are there. My son, Frankie, who we call "Bubba", starts tackle football this year. He is strong and funny like you. Maybe he'll play for West Chester.... 2 Buds raised to you today. Cheers my friend! -Tiny

Happy Birthday Richie! I'm sure your having a nice celebration in heaven. We are so busy planning Katie's wedding and you are still such a part of it. We cut a heart shaped piece of one of your tshirts and had it sewn into her wedding gown. We are also dedicating the Father/Daughter dance to you. I still get sad that you can't be here for her. She deserves to have you walk her down the aisle and dance with her. She's so happy and Aaron is good for her. Help me get through the day with minimal tears. We love and miss you always.

I woke up this morning at 2:13, the same time I woke up 11 years ago. No matter how life moves on there is still a pain and a hole that never goes away. Just needed to let you know It's still hard. It's amazing to me how my body always knows when this time of year is here even when my mind is busy and filled with so much. We still miss you, love you and honor you.

10 years Bubba....I cannot believe it is 10 years today since the tragedy that changed so many lives. There isn't a shift that goes by that I don't stop and look at your face on the memorial and thank you for keeping your watchful and protecting eyes over us. Thinking about it still brings a tear to my eye trying to understand why. RIP my brother.

I love you and miss you so much !!! I read this poem the other day and I found it perfect for you since you passed away right before my birthday...
"Dear God, I miss my Daddy"
Dear God, I miss my Daddy
My daddy is a policeman, he wears a suit of blue;
he didn't come home from work last night,
mommy says he's in heaven with you.
I'm worried about my daddy, Lord,
he's never been away this long before;
mommy cried when she told me that we wouldn't see daddy no more,
I don't know what it was that mommy was trying to explain;
she said the police were after a bad man, and somehow my daddy was slain.
Now I don't know what that means Lord, all I know is we miss daddy a lot;
because tomorrow is my birthday, and I sure hope he hasn't forgot.
Lord if my daddy is up there in heaven, please tell him as soon as he is free;
to hurry back home as fast as he can, because we miss him, mommy and me.

Shannon, thank You for all your support. I miss Richie everyday, the pain doesn't ever seem to go away. But I know he's watching over all of his family. His children and Laurie are doing wonderful and are successful, very proud of them. And with my sister who struggled with cancer, I know he was there to take care of her. I know he's always there for all of us, like he always was, but I still miss him like it was yesterday. Officer Brad Fox is in good hands b/c I know Richie is there to welcome him and take care of him. They together will take care of Officer Fox's family and their children. It's sad and breaks my heart, God Bless them All!!

Bubba,
Please guide Brad as he joins you and show him how to love and protect his family from where you are. He helped me on a burglary with his K9 in LG just a week before his end of watch. You'll like him....
Tricia and all the Lawn Family,
Please know that Bubba is forever in our hearts...

SGT. Drew and Shannon,
I just want you and everyone out there who has ever left a reflection know how much it means to me and my family. It gives us a smile of pride instead of tears all the time that others care so much. Over the years we miss my brother so much and the pain doesn't stop but to hear how much he impacted others lives means the world to me. So for that I thank You.

Just wanted to let you know we are currently in the same position you guys were in several years ago. My cousin Corporal Chad Lecroy with Ga State Patrol was killed just after christmas 2010. Crushed our lives I am also in LE and the family has several military and Criminal Justice ties. Yesterday, we dedicated a new bridge at the Cobb/Fulton County line in Chads memory! Just awesome!
