7/9/03 will always be a day I'll always remember. It was the day that while serving as a Deputy in Clay County Florida, I was shot at by one of the citizens with a 12 gauge. All said and done, myself and other deputies escaped injury.
I offer my condolences to your family and you will remains in my prayers.

You are the true definition of a public servant, one who would lay down his life for another. I hate with all my heart and soul that this happened, but I know you are in a better place. Thank you for your service, and your sacrifice. You will always be in our hearts.

John,
I am sorry that you stopped that day. I should have been in your place, and beside my partner. If only I had been there you wouldn't have stopped......
No you would have stopped anyway that's the way you always were.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).
Deputy Musice was killed shortly after Anthony. We have had a very trying time and I know the family/friends of Mr. Musice have also had a trying time. My heart goes out to you all.
We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.
These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

My family and I learned of this great loss through my mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Manley. My father was friends with both officers. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families.

You are now gone but will never be forgotten. I love you like my own brothers, which you are.I am now getting the biggest piece of country ham at the 10-21 place, but I would give anything if you were still here to get the biggest piece. Look for me when it is my turn to go to heaven.I will take care of Rhonda till then. I miss you and love you as do the rest of the WCSD brothers and sisters. We will be 10-8 again in heaven as I to know God. Bye for now, MY BROTHER

Some say it is not the way the one is taken but the way one lives their lives that count. I feel it is both. May the strength of his life and willingness to serve the public give you worth in continuing on and may all the good memories you shared stay with you and guide you. Thank you for supporting him in helping to keep my life safe.
