Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

7/8/07 almost exactly four years since that terrible day another officer was murdered in the line of duty. It made me think of you. I wanted you to know that you are still missed by all of us here in Newaygo County. I think often of the last time I saw you. You ask how I was doing and I responded well you know how work is? You laughed and I left. I wish I would have spent the time to talk a little longer because a few days later you were taken from us. Hey at least I just get to remember you smiling. Your definately missed. There's a golf outings Friday and their definatly not the same without you KM. I will be thinking of you. Just wanted you to know your missed. Keep watching over us.

Did you see your daughter today? Im sure you did. She did so awesome in the triathlon! Wow it was so cool! In her age group (6-7 yrs) she finished 5th of 22! She had to swim 50 yards, bike 2 miles and run 1 mile! She had a great running partner in Uncle Mark. Jake there getting her ready for the bike and run - me, Di, Anthony, Jonathan, Josh, Nicole, Sammy and Joe kept cheering - ! She did it! We are all so proud of her as we know you are too.

I was on vacation, out of state when I heard the horrible news. I felt so helpless. It seems like yesterday. We all miss you so much, and think about you often. I know you are watching over all of us. Thank you.

For the past four years, you and Kevin have been in our daily thoughts and prayers. With broken hearts and falling tears, we realized the pain and struggles you have lived with since this terrible and senseless tragedy.

As the family member of a special response cop, I just wanted to let you know how much your death has touched my life. I didn't know you when you are alive, but I often think about you and your wife and family and I realize on any god-forsaken given day I could be her. Your death has made me more profoundly aware of the dangerous and courageous (and unrewarded) work that special response officers perform every day they put on their uniforms. Thank you for making me realize how precious life is. I am sorry that you had to make the ultimate sacrifice, but I am thankful for men like you. People don't need to look to Iraq for true patriots and heros, they are right here in Michigan - every single day, working 24/7. We are all so proud of you!
