Reflections for Deputy Sheriff J. Floyd Winningham
John Floyd was my grandfather. He was killed along with my great grandfather, by the same man. My great grandfather was the Sheriff, my grandfather was a deputy Sheriff, and my uncle was a officer. All 3 were killed within 3 months of each other

Deputy Winningham and family: Thank you for your sacrifice and service by both yourself, your father and other family members. Your family gave so much in the name of law and order in a time where technology and equipment wasn't what it is today. Your family is no doubt proud of you as are your brothers and sisters within the law enforcement profession.

Your heroism and service is honored today as we approach the 76th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.
My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. He was shot twice when ambushed on April 23rd when he was on a foot pursuit of two bank robbers, 72 years after you were killed.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
I cannot even comprehend the magnitude of grief your mother had to endure in losing her husband and her two sons in the line of duty. No one should have to pay this high a price.

I read the information about the murder of you and your dad while performing your law enforcement duties. Then about three months later your brother died in the line of duty in a different jurisdiction. Thanks for the tremendous sacrifice for one family.
God bless each of you.
