I will never forget the day, I was assigned to Safe City Task Force ( The Train ). And, I met you and officer K. Bowman even though I was a Probationary Police Officer on the job.
You, came over and introduced yourself to me and said " If, I was to need any help just come too you...
I will never forget the time, whenever I needed a backup I could count on you (P/O Melvin Lisojo). You, was more than just a co-worker, you was like a family member to so many of us...From, us at the Safe City & Auto Theft Task Force, we want you too know WE LOVE 7 MISS YOU, MEL !!!!

Dear Mel,
Words cannot express the sadness we feel not to have you wit us anymore. Your missed so very much but never forgotten. The time you spent living with us wil be cherished in our hearts for-ever. You will be missed...Mel, you gave your life and that doesn't surprise us, that's just the type of person you are. May God bless you always.
We will be here to support your brothers and sister, I will try to look after them the way you did for us...We love you and will never forget you. MELVIN LISOJO WAS MY FATHER. IM JAHAIDA LISOJO, HIS 15 YEAR OLD DAUGTHER. MY FATHER WAS A GREAT MAN. HE ALWAYS CALLED US TO JUST HEAR OUR VOICES AND TO TELL US HE LOVE US. MY FATHER ALWAYS LOVED WATCHING ME DANCE AND PERFORM AT SCHOOL. HE ALWAYS TOLD I LOOKED SO BEAUTIFUL. WHEN I FOUND OUT MY FATHER HAS PASSED AWAY. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT. AND TILL THIS DAY I STILL DONT. How sad to lose such a fine officer so needlessly. I pray for his family, friends and colleagues. I hope the suspect is held accountable for this terrible crime.
This demonstrates so sadly, that no part of police work is "routine". Automobiles are killers for officers. He now walks a beat in Heaven with St. Michael. God Bless and be safe.
