Reflections for Sergeant Michael Walter Johnson
There are but two persons who protect the sinful human race from destroying itself. One is God's Holy Spirit. The other is the Peace Officer. Without them, we would all perish at each other's hands.
According to Romans 13.1-5...
God ordains the Peace Officer’s profession.
The Peace Officer is sent by God.
The Peace Officer is vested with God's authority to enforce the law.
A Peace Officer's badge is to be honored by us, because it is honored by God.
To the family of Sergeant Michael Johnson and the Vermont State Police, your extended family of Law Enforcement Officers grieve with you during this time. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around each of you and comfort you during this most difficult time.
To all my brothers and sisters, please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in.
May God be with you every day, please remember, we are a part of the largest family in the world and when one hurts we all hurt.
Though our badges and uniforms may be different, our mission is the same. Rest in peace with our other fallen Brothers and Sisters. We will continue the fight in your honor.

I am appalled at the loss of another brother in blue. I can understand the grief and shock his family and co workers are going through. I lost my SGT to the same horrible type of murder. I pray that his family can be comforted in that he fulfilled the great scripture in John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life forhis friends."
I have never had the honor of meeting Sergeant Johnson; yet, I can just imagine the love he must have had for his family and fellow man.
Keep the streets of Heaven safe until we meet Sergeant Johnson.

REST IN PEACE SERGEANT JOHNSON. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. I AM SADDENED TO HEAR THAT ANOTHER OFFICER TO BE TAKEN IN THE LINE OF DUTY. AT THE AGE OF 16 I WAS A TROUBLED TEEN AND LEAD AUTHORITIES ON A CHASE THE PERSON I WAS WITH ENDED UP CRASHING THE VEHCILE NO OFFICERS WERE HURT BUT I STILL CRINGE EVERYTIME I THINK I COULD HAVE GOTTEN AN OFFICER HURT OR KILLED. I HOPE THAT IF ANY ONE READS THIS THAT THEY WILL LOOK AT THE NEXT TIME THEY SEE THE LIGHTS AND SIRENS IN THEIR REAR VIEW MIRROR TO JUST PULL OVER AND LET THESE FINE PEOPLE DO THEIR JOBS. IT TOOK ME ALONG TIME TO APOLOGIZE TO THOSE I HURT BUT NOW I HAVE MADE PEACE WITH MYSELF FOR THE CRIMES I DID AND THOSE I HURT. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND DEPARTMENT DURING THIS TRAGIC EVENT. YOUR MEMORY WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN BUT HONORED.
REST IN PEACE AND GOD BLESS.

Sergeant Johnson,
This is simply a case of Murder by Vehicle. I mourn your loss; the loss of your life, the loss to your community, the loss to your comrades, and certainly the loss to your family. I hope that if you did not have the opportunity to know St. Michael in this cruel world that you are getting to know him in Heaven.
I am saddened that your death was the result of yet another law enforcement officer murder. I am still astonished at the evil which lurks in some men’s souls; that which causes them to commit these senseless acts of killing over insignificant events, when not confronted with self-defense. I cannot fathom how a person choses to run down an officer instead of damaging a tire or two.
I hope that your loss is publicly recognized and understood, and that the murderer does not become the object of sympathy as it so often happens. We too suffer the common shrift as victims of being lost in the shuffle, of being sidelined in deference to the “offender’s personal problems.” We will keep watch in your case and remind others of your sacrifice.
God bless your eternal soul.
