Officer Zeppetella,
I mourn your loss; the loss of your life, the loss to your community, the loss to your comrades, and certainly the loss to your family. I hope that if you did not have the opportunity to know St. Michael in this cruel world that you are getting to know him in Heaven.
I am saddened that your death was the result of yet another fatal traffic stop. I pray that someday we will recognize and be permitted to use a safer method of dealing with what can sometimes be such catastrophic event. Trust that we will use your hard earned experience from the actions that took your life to educate others – to hopefully save their lives in similar situations.
God bless your eternal soul.

But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

And if I go,
While you're still here...
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
--behing a veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again
--both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest and when you need me
Just whisper my name in your heart
I will be there.

"Friends in Blue"
We have worked together for many years,
It's our voices ringing in your ears.
We try to make those long days brighter,
And hopefully, the load a little lighter.
We send you to the bar-room brawl.
And out in the rain to the nuisance call.
We worry about you day and night.
To make sure every call turns out all right.
We share your sorrows, we share your joys,
That's why we think of you as ... "Our boys."
Then why have we never said to you,
"I'm proud of you ... my friend in blue."

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the Zeppetella family and the officers of the Oceanside Police Department over the tragic loss of Officer Tony Zeppetella. Once again a coward has taken the life of one of our brothers in blue. Tony has now gone to join St. Michael and his angels to patrol the streets of Heaven. May God bless the Zeppetella family during this most tragic time. May our brother Tony rest in peace. Never forget the fallen hero!

Tony, Not only were you a great husband, father and hero but you were a loyal and true beat partner. The laughs we had while at Starbucks will never be forgotten. You gave your life for all of us and we will always have a special place in our hearts for you my brother. Go on and be with God Officer Zeppetella (6 Boy)

To many times I sit in front the this computer and again see another "Brother in blue" taken from us. Many times this grown man starts to get teary eyed as starts to think of his wife and family. Everyday that I work I turn on the net and come directly to this website. Some of the guys tell me that I am too paranoid and that I am too Cautious. Sometimes, God choses to take one of his "Protectors" home regardless how carful we are. I feel that God has Chosen to take Officer Tony Zeppetella home because he has spent him time in hell and now he needs him standing next to the throne. As a grown man and being wearing the uniform for a unappreciated 81/2 years, I still get excited to come to work. If God choses to take me from this earth, then I know that I that I am going to another place that where Officer Zeppetella is still patroling the streets of Gold and keeping them safe. My god be with his family and give them some type of understanding and comfort.
Remember, "the thin blue line!!!!"
Rest in Peace my brother, your time is done, we'll take it from here!!

May you rest in peace brother, and Godspeed.
THE POLICEMAN'S LAST ROLL CALL ...
THE POLICEMAN STOOD AND FACED HIS GOD, WHICH MUST ALWAYS COME TO PASS. HE
HOPED HIS SHOES WERE SHINING, JUST AS BRIGHTLY AS HIS BRASS. "STEP FORWARD
NOW, POLICEMAN. HOW SHALL I DEAL WITH YOU? HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED THE OTHER
CHEEK? TO MY CHURCH HAVE YOU BEEN TRUE?"
THE POLICEMAN SQUARED his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint. I've had to
work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I've been
violent because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny that
wasn't mine to keep, though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just
got to steep. And I never passed a cry for help, though times I shook with
fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept many unmanly tears. I know I
don't deserve a place among the people here, they never wanted me around
except to calm their fear. If you've a place for me Lord, it needn't be so
grand. I never expected or had too much, but if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod. As
the policeman waited quietly, for the judgement of his God. "Step forward
now, policeman, you've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's
streets, you've done your time in hell."
