My thoughts and prayers are with Officer Zeppetella's wife and young son. I am so very sorry that you must endure this pain. Know that he no longer has to deal with the evils of this world. He is in a much better place than we are. I know this doesn't lessen your loss. I, too, know how you feel. I lost André in the line of duty earlier this year. Please know that you are not alone and others feel your loss as well.

Our thoughts and prayers are with this brave Officer's family. As much as we know what the risks of the job are, it will never get easier to see another officer down. Never. I know his badge will shine in heaven, and I hope for peace and support for Officer Z's wife and child, as well as extended family. Know that the law enforcement family does not end in CA, it reaches across the nation. The day this happened, all of us lost a brother. Blessings~

Dear Mrs. Zeppetella-
I wish to send condolences to you on behalf of my whole deptartment. I too am a "rookie" officer at my department(14 months 10-8) and the story of your husbands' death really hit home for me. I wish there were some words that would take away your pain or bring your husband back to you, unfortunately this is not possible I know. Hopefully just knowing that other officers like myself honor your husbands memory and his deication to serve his community on a daily basis will be enough.
God Bless you and your family,

Officer Zeppetellas family, co-workers & friends are in my thoughts & prayers. I, too, have a wife & six month old that I kiss good night every day as I walk out the door to go to work. I am at a loss of words.
My upmost respect and thanks goes to the fellow EMTs (I am also an EMT) who rushed into harms way to help Officer Zeppetella... the suspect could just have easily returned to the scene.

It is always a sad day when an officer who has committed their lives to walk our streets to serve and protect us from those who choose to create a world of fear for others, life is ended.
I live to see a day where we all can live in peace and respect one another.
The sad part is, We will probally never see that day as long as guns and weapons exsist.

I knew you only a short time Tony, and I now mourn for that which I will never know. I remember being altermnate at the Baker to Vegas Relay for your leg, Leg 15. Your wife rode with me, cheering you on. About 1 mile before the end of your leg, you left some "motivation" on the asphalt. I will always remember that you continued with your run. In spite of the pain, you marched on. It is now up to the rest of us to pick up where you left off. It's our turn to march on.
This morning, before your memorial, I visited the shrine that has sprung up where you were struck down. I read something on a sign that you should take with you: "Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they are the sons of God. -Matthew 5:9"
Godspeed Tony... Godspeed.
