Never thought anyone in the family had actually been in the police force before me. It's nice to know that I have a legacy to uphold.

Thank you so much for the legacy you left in your wonderful family. I am one of the great granddaughters and my son, Albert's great-great grandson has followed in the police line. He is in the security forces for the USAF as a military police officer. You are honored today and many more days with the family that carries on.

I was 7 years old when my Grandfather was killed. To this day I can remember my Mother calling me to her bedroom to tell me that Grandpap was dead. Being the oldest grandchild I am perhaps the only one who still has memories of him. As long as I live he will also in my heart. He missed so much of life especially the birth of his twin grandsons (Grandpap was a twin) who were born four months after his death. How comforting to see that others still honor his memory.

To a man that I have never met and whose untimely death left a void in so many people's life from his wife to his children's children. May you rest in peace knowing that your dedication to serve and protect your fellow citizen has been passed down to your great grandson.

This officer was my grandfather, my mother's father. He was greatly loved by his five daughters and his wife, but I think perhaps most loved by his daughter, my mother. His death left a blank place in her life and she frequently told us stories about him - work stories, family stories, personal memory stories, and of course the story of his untimely death. Because of her stories, his life remains a very vivid figure for me and his death a very tragic one . My mother died a few years ago and I hope that she has been able to reunite with my dad, whom she missed terribly, and her father, who was so dear to her.
