The sacrifice you made to protect my family and friends in Fayette will always be remembered.
Rest easy "108"

Deputy Barry Corkren
Fayette Couny Sheriff's Department
I could say many great things about this Officer, but the one thing that comes to mind is hero I think all the men and women, that put on the uniform are heros. I have two heros in my family, my dad put on the uniform for 36 years and now my brother wears it. I think that God has a special place, or you could say a metal of honor, for heros like Officer Strikland, and I would say he as received that metal. May God be with Officer Strickland's family and loved ones, and may God be with all you heros who wear the uniform.
Keith Godsey
I grew up close to your community and my father worked with both of you as joining counties many years. I now wear that badge that so many hate and that do not respect us. My heart grieves for you and you family brother. I know that God will be with your family and that you are resting in peace. You did your time in Hell here on this earth serving and protecting for the years that you gave all. I will never forget you brother because I know what you do..... We never know what we are gonna face and I want to say, "I Love You and I hope that God lets us have those FOP meetings in Heaven and we can all be together as Blue once again:):)"

Rest In Peace my old friend, for we must all make that journey one of these days. Take care of your comrades, "Ace" and "Crump", as I know they will you. You have watched over our communities for all of these years, now you can watch over us from above. Reap your rewards my friend, for you have served your tour of duty on this old earth and now it is time for you to rest. We all will miss you for now, but I look foward to seeing you on the other side. (FRS-51)

"Friends in Blue"
We have worked together for many years,
It's our voices ringing in your ears.
We try to make those long days brighter,
And hopefully, the load a little lighter.
We send you to the bar-room brawl.
And out in the rain to the nuisance call.
We worry about you day and night.
To make sure every call turns out all right.
We share your sorrows, we share your joys,
That's why we think of you as ... "Our boys."
Then why have we never said to you,
"I'm proud of you ... my friend in blue."

I was so terribly saddened to learn of Officer Strickland’s death and also the deaths of Corporal Crump and Dispatcher Mealer. I worked with Arnold many years ago when he worked part time for an ambulance service in Demopolis, Al. I also worked as a Police Officer in Tuscaloosa, Al. which is not far from where Arnold worked in Fayette. It is so tragic when we loose those who watch over and protect us. May God comfort and give strength to all who were affected by this horrible tragedy . Arnold, rest peacefully in GOD’S presence and thank you for all you gave.

Everyday officers across the country risks their lives for common interests of justice and the protection of our loved ones. On events like these, we wonder who watches our officers? Let us continue the faith in knowning that God, our Saviour, is standing over everyone of us. I truly commend these officers and dispatcher for doing what they truly loved, public service. May God have mercy and recover their souls for they truly died martyrs of God. My prayers and thoughts are with each one of the family members and brother officers, God Bless.
