Please pass this to all patrol deputies from the Andrews family:
“Continue to stay safe, remain alert at all times, always remain professional & be proud to wear the LASD uniform!”
We appreciate all of your communications and keeping in touch with all of the updates!

Your killer has been released from prison to continue to live his life while yours ended that day.
I wish I could tell you things have changed since your time but they haven't. They've actually gotten worse. It's a sad and difficult time to be a police officer in America. Still, your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Century Station is still a very proud station where only the best deputies make it off training and tow the line. Everyone there is hard charging and wreaks havoc on the criminal population. Thank you for your service. Its unfortunate you're not enjoying a well deserved retirement but we take comfort in knowing you're on a better place. Until we meet again....

My dearest brother I have missed you and thought of you every since your untimely death. You really weigh on my mind today as we have lost yet another brother that was employed by the Los Angeles Co Sheriffs Department. I know Jimmy will meet you in heaven and that does give my heart some peace. We have also lost brothers Mack Andrews, of the Los Angeles Police Department, Jesse Andrews of the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department, Jackson Andrews and last year Richard Andrews. Your sisters Beaulah Baldwin and Glayds Mosley have gone on also. We started as a family of 12 siblings and are down to four. I know that all of this is in God's will even though I don't know why he has taken all of you from me. All I can do is still give him praise and trust that he knows why. Brother I love you and miss you tremendously. When you were taken he took one of the best. I remember when we were in school and our parents gave us lunch money and you were a few years older, you opted not to eat everyday, saved your money and brought Chirstmas presents for the three children under you. What a sacrifice you made to see a smile on our faces. Your heart was so kind and loving. Even though I love all my siblings you always stood out in my heart. I surely hope you are resting in the peace that you so deserve. I look forward to rejoicing with you on the other side. Mother use to always remind me how you asked her to go to the hospital and get a girl and make sure she was light. I'm the girl that you asked mom for and I am glad she was able to accommodate your wishes. You always treated me as if I was your child as well and I was. There was nothing you would not do for me when I asked. When you joined the department making decent money you helped me get a car made sure I went to prom and had a nice dress. I will always remember you until the end of my time. Take care for now, I know you are only a thought away when I need you. I love you to infinity.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
