My sincerest condolences to the family of this brave officer. We lost my brother to the same preventable accident on December 19th, 2002 due to the defect in the Ford Crown Victoria. We prayed that this would not happen again and are deeply saddened by the news. To the family, please know that you are not alone and believe that one day you will see him again. Having just returned from National Peace Officer Memorial week in our nations capitol, I am extremely distraught to hear of another devastating loss of a fellow Officer due to a very preventable incident that needs to be addressed immediately. I too lost my good friend (Officer R. Nielsen) in a Crown Victoria Collision on 06/12/02. No words can explain your loss at this time. My deepest sympathies go out to Troopers Newton's Wife and children as well as his police family in the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Trooper Newton will forever be in our hearts and will never be forgotten. We are here for you in your time of sorrow and together we can end these senseless tragedies. May Trooper Newton rest in peace knowing that he did his best everday and gave his today's so that we may have our tomorrow's.

What a traggic loss. Anytime we lose another member of the thin blue line it is a sad day. I am only 25 myself and to be taken so young is such a tragedy. To the family of Trooper Newton, I express my most sincere condolances. Know that he made the ultimate sacrafice serving the most noble proffesion there is.
