Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Bruce Kevin Lee
My thoughts and prayers go out to Deputy Lee and his family. I did not him personally, however, it still hurts to loose a fellow law enforcement officer. He made the ultimate sacrifice and will never be forgotten for that.
Officer Matthew Drew
Desert Hot Springs Police
Bruce always had a big smile and a way to make you laugh if things weren't going so great for you that day.
Bruce would always help you when you asked him too and never asked for anything in return.
He was everyone's friend and a truly decent man, I will alway's miss him and his smile. Rest in Peace Bruce, I will never forget you.
Deputy Michael hernandez
Riverside Sheriffs Dept.
Bruce,
Thank you for your years of service and dedication.
Any officers death is a tragedy, but yours hits a little closer to home as I started my career as an explorer with RSO in the mid seventies out of the Hemet station.
Go with God my brother.

THE POLICEMAN'S LAST ROLL CALL ...
THE POLICEMAN STOOD AND FACED HIS GOD, WHICH MUST ALWAYS COME TO PASS. HE
HOPED HIS SHOES WERE SHINING, JUST AS BRIGHTLY AS HIS BRASS. "STEP FORWARD
NOW, POLICEMAN. HOW SHALL I DEAL WITH YOU? HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED THE OTHER
CHEEK? TO MY CHURCH HAVE YOU BEEN TRUE?"
THE POLICEMAN SQUARED his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint. I've had to
work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I've been
violent because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny that
wasn't mine to keep, though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just
got to steep. And I never passed a cry for help, though times I shook with
fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept many unmanly tears. I know I
don't deserve a place among the people here, they never wanted me around
except to calm their fear. If you've a place for me Lord, it needn't be so
grand. I never expected or had too much, but if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod. As
the policeman waited quietly, for the judgement of his God. "Step forward
now, policeman, you've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's
streets, you've done your time in hell."

WITH HONOR
Distant memories of loved ones
whisper in a mind
Songs of joy and laughter
no more fill the air
With honor in one's heart
they die beneath a bullet
Glorified a soul
to heaven is it's flight
With Honor many fall
But also-with honor~ thousands stand tall
In Valor, there is Hope. Godspeed...

Bruce I only knew you a few years while being assigned to the same patrol station but I will miss you greatly. I still go to work expecting to see you gearing-up in the locker room before duty, laughing, joking and smiling like you did every day. You were always ready to help anyone who needed it without question. I know that you are in a better place still doing what you love to do but all of us here will miss you. You will not be forgotten 2LA49, rest easy.....

It could just as easily been any of us Bruce. We can't pick our time and place. All we can do is put on our armour and go to battle day after day and pray to God to take care of our families should our time come. God bless your family. We will do our best to take care of them for you. We know God has a plan and that we would'nt be able to understand it if we could see the whole thing. I know God used you to the fullest while you were on earth. Thank you for being a Warrior, a Brother.

The Badge
It is polished and shiny and looks so fine.
Once you earn it you have to tow the line.
The minute you wear it upon your chest
it becomes a symbol that you are the best.
It means honesty, integrity, and fairness to all.
Your life is never your own, but at the publics call.
Night or day, any hour, it makes you a mark.
It doesn't protect you from a shot in the dark.
Over the years the shine starts to fade,
but brighter still is the man its made.
It is often what seperates you from the crowd.
It is a second family of which you are proud.
So now comes your time, you can't be denied.
When you pin on your badge, wear it with pride
The minute you wear it upon your chest
it becomes a symbol that you are the best.

Deputy Lee, we were very sad when we heard of your death, as we were in Washington DC for National Police Week, how ironic when we were honoring your brothers and sisters of LE your name was added to the list. To your family and friends our hearts and prayers go out to you....
God Bless you

To the family, friends, and co-workers of Bruce Lee, my very deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers. It is so disheartening when another person is added to our long list of fallen loved ones. I pray that all of you will put aside any differences at this time and truly be there to support one another, especially the family, at this horrible time. I pray that the Riverside Sheriff's Dept. will not forget Bruce's family in the years to come, as they will need your support FOREVER. All of you please allow yourself to feel your grief, share it with one another, and help each other move forward through time. Embrace the memories of Bruce's life, not only as a deputy, but as a man who was loved beyond the job. Take comfort in what Bruce has left behind for you. I pray for peace and serenity in the years to come for all of you. Please know that I am here for you in any way I can help.

May you rest in peace!

Family and friends,
Our hearts are broken to know we have one more "name" to add to a wall. The name is not just any name it is of your hero and those of us that have heroes that have gone before him know your heartache and pain. We will be your strength when you feel you have no strength. Our thoughts and prayers are with you daily.
