MAY GOD BLESS DEPUTY LEES FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COWORKERS. WHAT A SHAME TO LOSE A VETERAN OFFICER IN A TRAGEDY LIKE THIS,OR ANY OFFICER ANYTIME. A HERO FOR SURE. REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER IN BLUE. YOU ARE GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.

CHIEF RONNIE WATFORD-RETIRED
JEFFERSON POLICE DEPT,S.C.

I sat with thousands in Washington D.C. on the night of May 13th, with candles lit in remembrance of all who had fallen last year and in years past. I never thought as we sat there that another name would be added so quickly to a list that is already much too long.

My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Deputy Lee. I know all too well how difficult this time is and the long road you have a head of you. You WILL be taken care of, as he took care of those he served. Take care and my God be with you.

Becky Muncy
Widow of Sgt. Marc Muncy, Columbus, Ohio Police Dept., E.O.W 04/05/95

As I put on the Uniform each day, I look forward to serving those in need, standing tall next to my brothers and sisters. Today we lost a Brother and it hurts, yet tomorrow we will continue to fight the same fight and serve those in need as Deputy Sheriff Bruce Lee did each day of his long career. Thank you for all that you have done, and please keep watch over us as we continue your fight. You will never be forgotten!

DEPUTY MARK LAFRAMBOISE
JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPT.

I worked with Bruce and he was a great friend of mine. He was a deputy that was well liked by everyone and he will be missed.

Bruce usually worked the contract city of La Quinta while I usually work in Coachella. But we had on occasion worked together and we were on the same shift. He was always one to help with a question and I used to call him all the time for help with things and he would do the same with me.

He exemplified what a peace officer should be and he was, and still is, greatly admired by his peers. We at the Riverside Sheriff's Indio Station feel a huge loss as Bruce was taken from us.

End of Watch – May 13, 2003

You carried yourself, both on and off duty, with class, dignity, and pride.
You touch all who knew you, with your compassion, your sense of humor, your infectious smile.
You were taken from us, way too soon and it has left us with a void in our hearts.
Though you may be gone, you will never be forgotten.
You left a piece of yourself, with everyone who knew you.
We will carry that with, for the rest of our lives.
Thank you Bruce, we love you and you will be missed.

How tragic. A fine officer killed in such a senseless and savage manner. I am glad the perpretrator was stopped before he hurt anyone else.

I pray for the officer's family, friends and colleagues.

He now walks the beat in Heaven along side St. Michael. Be safe and God Bless.

God speed my brother....

THE POLICEMAN'S LAST ROLL CALL ...

THE POLICEMAN STOOD AND FACED HIS GOD, WHICH MUST ALWAYS COME TO PASS. HE
HOPED HIS SHOES WERE SHINING, JUST AS BRIGHTLY AS HIS BRASS. "STEP FORWARD
NOW, POLICEMAN. HOW SHALL I DEAL WITH YOU? HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED THE OTHER
CHEEK? TO MY CHURCH HAVE YOU BEEN TRUE?"

THE POLICEMAN SQUARED his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint. I've had to
work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I've been
violent because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny that
wasn't mine to keep, though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just
got to steep. And I never passed a cry for help, though times I shook with
fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept many unmanly tears. I know I
don't deserve a place among the people here, they never wanted me around
except to calm their fear. If you've a place for me Lord, it needn't be so
grand. I never expected or had too much, but if you don't, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod. As
the policeman waited quietly, for the judgement of his God. "Step forward
now, policeman, you've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's
streets, you've done your time in hell."

Each time I check this site I pray I won't find another fallen hero. To the family and friends of Deputy Lee I send my deepest sympathy. Heros are hard to find and even harder to hold on to. Deputy Lee was one of many that face fear every day and demostrated their courage and honor. Deputy Lee you are a true hero and will never be forgotten. I'm honored and humbled to call you brother.
