Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Toney Clayton Summey

So sorry to hear that another officer was killed in N.C. May God watch over Deputy Summey's family, friends & coworkers during this tragedy. I know the pain and loneliness you feel and will continue to feel. It doesn't necessarily get easier, but with the support of others you can learn to deal with it a little easier one day at a time. Always remember the wonderful time you had together. You're in my prayers.

They say "You don't know what you got until it's gone!" How true that is! You were a kind individual, who cared about your fellow man. You always had a smile on your face! Me, being the moody person I am, asked you one day " How can you always be in a good mood?" You just smiled at me, and offered a few words of wisdom. I used to fuss at you when you would beep me on the nextel, because you knew I hated talking on it, thats why you done it. I would give anything for you beep me now, and be able to fuss at you. I remember the time that my day started out bad, I was having coffee at the Randleman Resturaunt when you beeped me and asked if I knew what 2 letters stood for (inside Joke), I busted out laughing and spewed coffee everywhere, everyone turned and looked at me (how embarrasing). Everything went right the rest of the day. We reminded each other of that constantly. Toney, you are a "
Hero" in every meaning of the word. I promise that I will look into what we had talked about! God bless you and your family! Watch over us and guide us Toney, we need you. You will be missed my friend! Godspeed my brother.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of sorrow. Toney Summey was a kind hearted concerned individual who cared for his fellow officers and his community. This tragic happening will remain in our hearts forever and Toney will remain as a wonderful memory of a great individual and one that I looked up too and had a great deal of respect for his integrity and honesty and willingness to make our community one in which to be proud of I will always remember you.....

"A Policeman was killed last night"

A policeman was killed last night.
He died while protecting your rights.
His creed was to protect and serve.
This fate he didn't deserve.

A mom and dad have lost a son.
So many other jobs he could've done.
His wife and kids are left alone.
Their daddy won't be coming home.

His fellow officers are hurt so deep.
For a fallen brother they weep.
The morning paper will print a story.
About a policeman who died in glory.

The flags will fly at half mast.
Politicians and citizens will seem sad.
The funeral is tommorrow at noon.
It will all be over very soon.

By next week they will have forgot.
That a policeman was killed last night.

I share my deepest sympathies with the family and friends of this fallen hero, may god bless you all.

There are but two persons who protect the sinful human race from destroying itself. One is God's Holy Spirit. The other is the Peace Officer. Without them, we would all perish at each other's hands.
According to Romans 13.1-5...
God ordains the Peace Officer’s profession.
The Peace Officer is sent by God.
The Peace Officer is vested with God's authority to enforce the law.
A Peace Officer's badge is to be honored by us, because it is honored by God.

To the family of Deputy Sheriff Toney Clayton Summey and the Randolph County Sheriff's Department, your extended family of Law Enforcement Officers grieve with you during this time. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around each of you during this most difficult time.

To all my brothers and sisters, may God be with you every day, please remember, we are a part of the largest family in the world and when one hurts we all hurt.

Though our badges and uniforms may be different, our mission is the same. Rest in peace with the other fallen Heroes. We will continue the fight in your honor.

There are simply no words that could describe the heroism displayed on a daily basis by Toney and his co-workers. On many occasions, I was relieved by the back-up that Toney gave me and will forever be grateful. May God bless Toney, his family and his co-workers.

KNOW THAT DEPUTY SUMMEY IS IN A BETTER PLACE AND THAT YOU ALL WILL SEE HIM AGAIN SOMEDAY. MAY GODD BLESS YOU ALL.

Today a hero died, tomorrow he will be given a final farewell by those who knew and loved him. Weeks, possibly months will go by as the "system" decides how his killer will be punished. His slick defense lawyer will portray a troubled man, desparate. Deputy Summey's family will have to listen to all the garbage, and relive his tragic death while everyone wonders why...why do we have a system that allows killers to walk the streets....only God knows, Bless you, Deputy Summey, you did your job...

KY Peace Officer Isaiah 40:31

My condolences to the family, community, and loved ones of Deputy Summey. Deputy Summey, I am sorry for your death as a result of yet another domestic violence event.

Hopefully one day we will have other options, safer options, in dealing with this most dangerous situation. Since you and St. Michael are now on the same shift, see if you can get him to give some rational guidance to those who make the rules, to change the rules, that we currently have to suffer with and die by.

May God bless your eternal soul.
