Dear Jerry....Why I am writing your page today I am not sure I guess it is because I visited my own son's page today and it made me think of you and that you must have a page also. I think of your mom, dad, Ashley,Pam and your family every day as I do of you also. I guess I just feel her love for you every day as I do being a mother of an Officer Down.I have never forgotten you from the day I first heard you had left us.Being a part of the San Diego County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation has made every officer a part of my prayers each day over the years in life and also in their death. But some how you were so "Special" for some reason and Ashley and your family "touched me so deepy" that day I just felt their sadness like my own. I have kept in touch with your mom and dad for years but over time with Ashleys busy life I have lost touch with her. I want you to know there is never a day in my life that you are not all in my thoughts and in my prayers. I am just so sorry it has taken me so long to put it into words on your page. But just to let you know it is hard for me to put into words what I feel even on my own sons page. May God Bless You and your Family And His Angels Keep All Of Them Safe Beneith Their Wings.I will visit you again but remember you have always lived on in my thoughts and prayers as all of my officers do. .....Mary Griffith. Jerry~
Todd and I went to the POA Christmas Party last night. You'd be so proud to see all of the gifts that came in for the Jerry Griffin Toy Drive. It's amazing to see your legacy live on -- we're so proud that your name is associated with such a wonderful event. They have a picture of you in front of the toy room that I still can't look at without feeling a huge hole in my heart. You are missed so deeply...
You continue to be in my thoughts with every story told about you (ones that are sister-appropriate!), every motorcycle ride that traces the routes you loved and every beautiful San Diego day that reminds me why you picked this city to be your home.
Rest in peace brother, knowing that we all still remember and love you so much. xoxoxo

It's crazy how it still hurts. I look at my son (whom I named after you) and see how he's grown .I tell myself "it can't have been this long! You know he was born 6mo. after you died. I see you in him, crazy as it seems, or maybe it's the part of me that was so much like you? I'm sorry I let you down brother...there's sooooo many things I needed to tell you.

It's funny, Jerry, that you've been in my thoughts all morning. I'm not sure exactly why. I've been thinking about how you used to make me laugh when we were in the office, and then how you could get so serious from one second to the next. You didn't mess around or put up with any crap and I appreciated that.
I really do miss you and think about you often. I don't even live in San Diego anymore but I carry you in my thoughts and will forever.

Hey Jerry! I just wanted to stop by and remind you that you are still in our hearts and remembered each and every day. Every time An office falls I always think of you and worry for dad. Every time there's a shooting where he is I swear I hold my breath! You were such a great man and though I only knew you a little, you made a lager impact on my life. Your kindness and you non- judgmental ways remind me to be humble and happy for what I have and not to be cruel. Thank you for that. Well I guess I'll let you go. I hope to see you again and do me favor tell my family friend I say hello and like dad asked help Mr. welison learn to ride better so we don't have to hear dad bitch lol! <3

Jerry,
I think about you all the time brother...I have many good memories of serving with you in the traffic unit's DUI squad! Every time I hear AC/DC's TNT I think of us riding in the patrol car with that boom box strapped to the cage behind us!
Rest in Peace brother!

I miss you, but I know you are looking after all of us and saving a lot of smart aleck comments until we are all together again! Your picture sits on my desk, and all I have to do is look at it and remember one of your crazy stunts, and I smile--you were an amazing friend to so many of us, and the world hasn't been as much fun without you in it! I love you!
