Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Eddie Mundo, Jr.

I remember the events of that night like it was yesterday; it's hard to believe it's been eleven years. You were a great friend and wonderful colleague, you are truly missed.

Eleven (11) years ago today my friend and brother in arms was taken from us in a senseless act of stupidity by a man who has never shown any remorse. There is not a day that goes by I don't think of you or speak of you to someone. Miss you Brother

My god ten years! I remember the first night you were assigned to me as your FTO at Jefferson County sheriff's office riding the street's of downtown Louisville. You were the easiest recruit to train that I ever had! You my friend, taught me a lot during that venture as well. I still think of you weekly and always will! Rest easy my friend!

~We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. We thought of you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name. Now all we have is memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, with which well never part. God has you his keeping and we have you in our hearts.~

I didn't really actually know you. I only really ever had one conversation with you, and that was the day that you pulled me out of the flipped SUV. I thank you for that so much. I am so sorry for the people that knew you personally and I am sorry for the loss that your son and your wife are facing right now. It is really hard to lose a loved one and to lose someone close to you. You were an extremely brave cop, and a hero to many. I pray you rest in peace officer Eddie Mundo, Jr.

I cant believe how time has passed, and yet the memory of that horrible day is less painful but very clear and vivid. I hope you can see the impact you made on your friends and family and how much you are truely missed.

I am greatful to still ahve the memories of our friendship and how that friendship had such a HUGE impact on my life. I keep meaning to finish redesigning your sticker but life has become so crazy, and for that Im sorry. Coming and looking at those whom still miss you as much as I makes me more determined to get it done. I trained a officer recently whos first name was Eddie and to say the least it was a little weird. I tell everyone who I trained about you and how great it is to have a friend as you and if they are so lucky to find a friend of your quality to cherish every moment. You are a HUGE inspiration to everyone who knows you.I am still reluctant to form a friendship like we had with another officer because the pain of losing you is the same as it was the day I recieved that dreaded phone call from our friends. I have a picture of you in my car and look at it when Im thinking of you and your family. I miss you greatly Bro.
Much love to you family and to everyone who still hurts from such a great loss.

To the people who knew and love this man,

He is truly a hero in my eyes I have learned alot about him. I had the honor of doing a powerpoint presentation on this officer. We had to choose a fallen officer and do a report on his life and how he ended his last watch...and this has truly been my honor. To everyone who knew this man i am praying for u and ur loss i know everyday it is still hard. your in my prayers.
