Reflections for Police Officer Charles Roy Clark

Officer Clark, I wish you God speed on your journey into the next life. Those that ended your watch will be dealt with accordingly as will all who break the laws of this great state and country. I commend you for doing your job without thought as to the possible outcome. All Peace Officers know the risk but respond to the call regardless. The law breakers may have claimed your life but God will see to their punishment in this life and the one here after. We may take comfort in knowing that. My prayers go to your loved ones left behind. May they find strength in remembering your courage and valour.

POLICE OFFICER

In the days past a Knight would go into battle, his shield in one hand his sword in the other. Those who knew the Knight did not fear him, for he was their protector. Only evil feared him, because he dared to go where no other man would venture. If he fell in battle he would be brought home on his shield with his sword laid at his side. Today we carry our shields not in our hands but on our uniforms. Those who know us do not fear us, because we are their protectors. Only the evil that dwells in the darkness still fears us because we are all that stands between it and the light. Today another Knight was laid to rest, his shield and sword with him. Officer Charles R. Clark will rest with his brothers and sisters that have gone before him. You can "OD" and rest easy Charles, your brothers and sisters all over the world will carry your battle forward.

I extend my deepest sympathy and respect to Officer Clark's family and fellow officers in Houston. He fought in a war against crime that is no less dangerous or important than the war being fought overseas by our couragous troops. We will keep up the fight for you my brother.

LEO/FLORIDA

As we approach the month of May and remember all of our fallen brothers and sisters, I would like to let the family of HERO CLARK know he is part of a family (world-wide) who feels pain and sorrow everytime this happens. We all reflect on how life would be for our own families, if something happened. I know the men and women who wear the badge would be there for my loved ones. No matter where. Please, call on any one of his brothers and sisters. We are here. Just like he was.
