To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 91rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

You must be so proud that your descendants have continued your legacy of protecting and serving.

Through the years I have heard a lot of good things about my great great Uncle Nat. He must have been a really good man. It is a great honor to our family to have Nat honored in such a way.

When I was a child my grandfather, Wm E. Alford, Sr. told stories about his dad (Nat) working for the sheriff's department in Rockdale, Texas. It wasn't until he was honored at the Fallen Officers Memorial in Austin,Texas, that I was privileged to attend, that I began to research his background.
I guess law enforcement is in the blood because I spent 23 years as a Deputy Sheriff in Liberty County, Texas.

It is with great pride that I see my great grandfather's memory being honored here. God bless all of our Law enforcement heros.

I recently learned that N.J. Alford was my great great grandfather. My father is soon to retire from the Liberty County Sheriff's Department and my goal is to follow in his footsteps when I return from Iraq. Both my father and I have always had a desire to be peace officers and I guess this comes from Nat. It really is true what the say, it's in the blood. I am proud to see his name finally made it on the wall after all these years. Thanks for providing this forum.
