Your heroism and service is honored today, the 120th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never dimishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered. .

I would like for people to get a bit of background on this man's personality and morals.
My grandfather Juan Lara (still alive and 91yrs old now) tells of the man behind the badge.
He says Pantaleon was one of the most honorable and moral men you could ever meet. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to a person in need. Was not intimidated by prejudices that were rampage at that time when Spanish-Mexican American blood was not honored much. He was brave in taking the position of deputy sheriff, knowing the scrutiny that would be placed upon him. He is honored by the generations that have followed him and we respect his memory... We are proud of you, grandpa...Thank you for the honorable stories of you that I can now tell my own children and someday pass on to my grandchildren.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003). Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend recently. Deputy Jeffery Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.
I want to honor all of those who gave their life in the line of duty. Although your death was many many years ago, you are still a hero.
God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.
...Gone, but never Forgotten....
