RIP GOD BLESS YOU...

WILLIAM MOURET
D/S I FORSYTH COUNTY

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and close friends of Sgt. David Land. He will truly be missed.

Detective Jimmy Whitlock
Forsyth County Sheriff's Department

David was my best friend. Almost seven months ago I stood beside him as his best man for his wedding and now this tradigity struck. David was one of those type people that never met someone he didn't like. He was always there to cheer you up, even when you didn't think you needed cheering up. He was the type you could talk to about anything and it would be alright. He was the best officer I know. He was dedicated to his wife and little girl who was his world. He loved his Sheriff's Office family just as much.

David, I love you man and I will miss you so much. God Speed.

Sgt. Michael Honiker
Forsyth County Sheriff's Office

May you rest in Peace.
God Bless you and your family!

David meant so much to our family in so many ways. He is and always will be our HERO! He will be remembered in our hearts forever. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family and to all whose lives he touched.

"In one sense there is no death. The life of a soul on earth lasts beyond his departure. You will always feel that life touching yours, that voice speaking to you, that spirit looking out of other eyes, talking to you in the familiar things he touched, worked with, loved as familiar friends. He lives on in your life and in the lives of all others that knew him.

Love,

Mama Rees

My sympathy goes out to the family and fellow officers of Sergeant Land.

While I did not have the privilege to have known him, I am sure that he has earned his seat in heaven. Rest well fellow officer, those of us remaining will cover your post on the blue line.

Sergeant Ryan McNeil
New Chicago, Indiana Police Department

This is the fundamental revelation of heaven: being welcomed, acknowledged, received, embraced, and included. Someone is waiting for us-waiting to take us in. Thus death is less an enemy and more a friend, bringing us into more of God's love and into His eternal purpose for us beyond our earthly life. If we believe that "Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep"(Corinthians 15:20), death has truly lost its lethal sting.... There are no words that will lessen your pain, only Scripture to lessen the burden, Sgt. Land, you join an elite group of men and women who served with dignity and courage, thank you from all of us left behind. I know you will be looking out for all of us from above. God Bless and goodbye for now, until we meet at Heaven's Gate.

I've known David for almost 15 years, since before he was a Police Officer. He was the most likeable person you could ever meet, always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. His passing is a tragedy, and he will be missed by all. Rest in Peace, David. We love you.

I remember the first time I met David he was on his motorcycle in his police uniform. Everyone that saw him knew that he loved his job and he was especially proud of being a motorcycle officer. My son (who was his roomate at the time introduced me as "his mom" and David said "Hi mom", gave me a big hug, and I knew that I had adopted him right there on the spot. Me being the concerned mother, asked him that day to take care of my son, a fellow police officer, and he did. David, thank you. Right now the news is full of the war and of the soldiers who die heroes. David is my hero who also gave his life in the line of duty. Thank you David, you will be sorely missed.

The best career in the world is that of a Police Officer and the best job within the department is being a Motorcycle Officer. Your loss is a tragedy for your family, your department and for us all. Let your family and friends find some comfort in knowing that you were doing what you loved and let them find comfort also in knowing that we, all active and retired officers, will never forget you, or them.

I met David when we went to Motor School together. He was an excellent Motor Officer and a great guy to be around. I will miss seeing him and riding with him. God Bless you David....

How sad. What a nice officer, with a bright future and a family left behind. He died serving his community.

We all share in the loss, for we are all family of the badge. God Bless his family, friends, colleagues and department in this difficult time.
