Reflections for Federal Prohibition Agent Patrick Cleburne Sharp

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace

Here is a story my Grandmother told me. She said after the funeral one of the agents told her. "Don't worry the man that did this won't last long after he gets out". The day he got out he was shot and killed while walking down the street.
I don't know if this fact or fiction but it made a good story.
My father told me when Pat would answer the door he had his .45 long Colt out and in the face of who ever was there with his thumb holding the hammer back and his finger pulled on the trigger. He said they would shoot you when you answered the door. I guess it was a little wild in 1928.
The Colt was a 4" nickel plated, with a pearl handle with a steers head with rubies in its eyes. It is really a neat pistol. This would also explain the weight on his pants on the right side in the picture. I hope you all will enjoy this and thanks for the reflections.

Officer Sharp, today marks the 80th anniversary of your demise. You did your job regardless of the risk and for that you are a hero. The Agents of the ATF enforce what are often unpopular laws but they are laws that need enforcing and we stand behind your efforts.

We may not know the fate of the person(s) responsible for your death, but we can hope he faced true justice, if not in this life, then in the next.

God bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

PAT WAS MY GRANDFATHER. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GATHER ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HIM WITH NOT MUCH LUCK. THIS IS A PICTURE I HAVE NOT SEEN BEFORE. I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE KNOWN HIM. HE WAS IN THE SAN ANTONIO POLICE DEPT. AND A RAILROAD AGENT. THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING HIM WITH ALL THESE OTHER BRAVE MEN AND THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR REFLECTIONS.
