We just found out through DNA genealogy that Chief Clarence Ritsch is my father’s grandfather, my dad’s father was Norman James Ritsch his son. My father, age 80, and I are so proud to have him as an ancestor! RIP great grandpa Ritsch!

My great great grandfather. His son Wilburn Clarence is my great grandfather. You are a brave man, your blood flows through me. My path is in Criminal Justice and now I know where I get it from! Wish I would have known you personally. Your granddaughter that was 3 months old at the time of your passing is my grandma and your great-granddaughter you would never meet cause of this horrible prisoner, is my mother. I am proud to be your blood sir, and I hope in my career I make you proud!

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
God Bless

I have just recently read the article about what happened to you even though I've known about you my whole life. My mother never even got to know you as she was only 3 months old when you died in the line of duty. Your family still remembers you and loves you. We are are so very proud of you and I wish I could have known you. I have made sure that even my children and grandchildren know about you and your service. You live on!!! VHM

May God bless you sir for the dedication you displayed, through your ultimate sacrifice, to those you protected and served. Although I could not have known you, your bravery and selflessness serves as an example to the men and women of our department to this day.
