Reflections for Police Officer Theodore Richard Zorsky

Dear Ted,
I worked with you for years at Hialeah. I was a dispatcher. You seemed to always be smiling, and oh you were so corny :). You were one of the nicest supervisors I ever worked for.
I had the pleasure of going to the police olympics and meeting up with you and your wife one year..what a sweetheart she is..you did good Ted. I got to know your daughter Pam for a bit before I retired. She is bright, sweet, tenacious...a nice blend of you and Dot.
Thank you.
After all these years..you have not been forgotten.

You have not been forgotten. Five years have passed and you are still in the thoughts of your loved ones and close friends. Continue to watch over all of them. You are a true hero and heroes never die. You will never be forgotten.

Hey Ted, well we're almost coming up on 5 years since you left me on the shift directing traffic and having to fight back the media and the on-lookers. I only wish it would have been a nightmare and that you would still be here making corny jokes. I miss you old timer; I miss going jogging with you on Crandon Blvd and working out at the Hialeah Police Gym. You finally got what you earned and was long overdue, A place on the wall at the Dade County Memorial. I spent the day with Dot, Karen, and Pammy. Oh, by the way Karen became a Sergeant; I was invited but could not attend because my mom was rushed to the hospital again. I miss you alot and only wish that you were still working with me on the night shift. Take care of me as I continue to do my duty and I will as always contue to pray for you and your family. GOD bless you Ted.

My fiancé, Dennis McElderry, was the first law enforcement casualty of 2003. Dennis was a Deputy Sheriff with the Davis County Sheriff's Office in SE Iowa. Dennis died doing a job he loved, just as I'm sure Theodore did. It saddens me to know that Dennis was not the first to die in the line of duty, nor will he and Theodore be the last to die this way.

Having gone through the pain of losing Dennis I can truly understand and feel the pain that Officer Zorsky's family, friends, and co-workers must have gone through in losing him. My heart goes out to you all, especially to his wife. No one can truly understand the pain of our loss until they've walked in our shoes. Please know that my thoughts are with you and that you are not alone in your "journey". Should you ever need anything please do not hesitate to contact me. (Dennis' department will also always know how to reach me.)

As a fallen officer "survivor" and a friend, please accept my condolences on behalf of myself and the McElderry family. I never got the opportunity to know Theodore but, I am certain he was well respected and well loved. Theodore will live on in the hearts of all the lives he touched. You were all blessed to have shared a part of your lives with him, even for a short time. I pray that Theodore will continue to watch over us along with all the other fallen officers all as only they can.

Thank you Officer Zorsky for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please say "hello" to my fiancé Dennis for me.

Wishing you and all those who loved you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)
