Reflections for Chief of Police Ernest Joseph Leatherbury, Sr.
Take it easy Chief. So many years so little time.
I am writing to leave my condolences to Chief Leatherbury and his famliy, along with the Crisfield Police Dept. I had previously worked under his command with the department as a Patrolman and enjoyed his company to the fullest extent. Chief Leatherbury hired me with his department and I was very greatful for him giving me a job in Law Enforcement, along with working for the town of Crisfield. His dedication to the job, his employess and the town gave me the up most respect for him and his desire to assist me in becoming a better police officer. I commend him for his time served with the Maryland State Police and with the Crisfield Police Dept. I feel very satisfied that I got to work under such and extroaidinary man in my career thus far. I hope everyone feels the same as I do. My thougths and prayers go out to Chief Leatherbury and his family and my fellow officer. Thank you Chief...

What a sad loss of such a fine man. As a former Trooper, I share especially in the death of this nice man. I pray for his family, friends and colleagues.'
The whole State of Maryland should be proud of such a good gentleman. We all share in the grief when a brother or sister officer goes down in the line. We are all family.
I just lost a dear friend of 12 years, LT Glenn Hicks, Avery Co. NC Sheriff's Office, murdered on 20 FEB. I know what you feel.
The Chief now walks a beat in Heaven with St. Michael. The Old Line State lost one of the finest.
God Bless and be safe.
