Well I'm 18 now and there hasn't been a day I haven't thought about you. Sometimes I ride in my car and just think about the days and things we talked about. All the many promises you made me that can't be fulfilled. It's not your fault. I remember riding around in your truck going to KFC getting some chicken and slaw and mashed taters and just riding to the lake and fishin I never thought those would be our last moments together. I thought we was just fishin and we would get to do that forever. People say that over time these situations get better and easier, for me it's been harder. These past years it seems oh hey there's a dance for granddaughter and paws well look who doesn't get to go... Oh it's prom well I don't get to take any pictures with the man I loved from the start. Oh my car was backed into no bonding time working on it with my best man.. Graduation is near I want you here to cheer me on. One day when I get married o wanted you there to be my best friend. I know you'd love Tyler you guys do some of the same things and it makes me realize that you helped god luck the one for me. Things isn't getting easier for me.. I'm trying to move on but sometimes I go back on those days we had and I just can't move on. Seeing all these people with their paw and I'm here wishing I could just say I love you wishing that I could just hug you one last time. I would give my life for you to be back. Life would be so much more simpler. I know your my angel I feel you with me but if I just could see you one last time hear your voice something I would be more at peace with life. Sometimes it's just so hard. I miss you so badly....

Messages from a Fallen Officer

To My Partner
You did all that you could, I fell and you stood.
You know sadness was never my style.
Those were the cards that we drew, nothing else more to do,
Except remember me, friend, with a smile.

To My Spouse
Don’t think me gone, but away, though I wish I could stay,
I’m not there, but our love did not end.
We had faith, we had love, sure as God is above
I feel your love from here that you send.

To My Children
I know for you it is hard to be alone in the yard
In that place where we laughed and we played.
My girl, my boy, know you still give me joy,
Live your life as I did, unafraid.

To Officers Left Behind
Each day you hit the street to cover your beat,
Prepare for the dangers you face.
Train hard, wear your vest - you’ll be put to the test.
Each day with your family embrace.

To the Criminals
Now that I’m here and God’s plan is so clear
To you there is but one thing to say.
You steal, rape and kill and abuse your free will
Your time will come, when there’s Hell to pay.

To All
I seem gone from you now, but I know that somehow
We will reunite in another place.
For “The good they die young,” is a song often sung,
But this verse is flawed on its face.

You see the good don’t die young, but instead they live on,
In memories, and many a heart.
The good that you do does not die when you do.
For the good, death’s not an end, but a start

I never dreamed it would be me,
My name for all eternity,
Recorded here at this hallowed place,
Alas my name, no more my face.
"In the line of duty," I hear them say;
My family now the price will pay.
My folded flag stained with their tears;
We only had those few short years.
The badge no longer on my chest,
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind,
And pray they keep this thought in mind.
I never dreamed it would be me,
And with heavy heart and bended knee;
I ask for all here from the past,
Dear God, let my name be the last

THE ONE THAT I ADORED

My dearest “BIG” brother GLENN

There are some things that I must say,
That I didn't get to tell you,
As you left my world that day.

I thank you for the love you gave,
for the times that we have shared,
for all the times you've comforted me,
and when you showed me that you cared.

The times when you protected me,
the times when you would call,
for picking me up when I was down,
and never letting me fall.

You grew into a special man,
a loyal and true friend,
and touched the lives of many,
until the very end.

Our world was very fortunate,
to have you standing by,
to protect, no matter what it took,
to lay your life on the line, and die.

Forever I shall be so proud,
of what you did that day, for
protecting and serving
and for giving your all,
in the most courageous way.

My memories I shall cherish,
I wish there were even more,
of you my dearest brother,
the one that I ADORED

The Duty

In the simple performance of duty,
he pinned on a badge,
checked his gear with a practiced eye,
and kissed his loved ones good-bye.

In the simple performance of duty,
he reported for work,
joked with his buddies at roll call,
and made his last trip down the squad room hall.

In the simple performance of duty,
he headed for his beat,
doing his job protecting his home from crime,
he stopped cars, and checked buildings for the last time.

In the simple performance of duty,
he answered the call,
to help the helpless, to find the lost,
no matter the danger or how great the cost.

In the simple performance of duty,
he lay down his life,
for those in peril he tried to save,
our brave friend went to his grave.

In the simple performance of duty,
we honor his deed,
as we carry him to rest in a flag draped casket,
long after the world has forgotten, we shall never forget.

Never judge or regret,
what he did,
in the simple performance of duty

It' has been a hard week this week. we have been in a battle to keep my brother Glenn's killer locked up in a mental institution. We had to set in court and listin to testamony about my brother Glenn's death all over again. The judge has allowed the man that killed Glenn to get privileges to two unsupervised hours a day. To go out each week on outings. He has went from a maximum security level to a minimum security level in six months. The only thing we got was he will stay were he is for one more year and the next hearing will be in Avery County. He could get out then. I feel our court system is a joke. Please continue to keep us in your prayers, cause the battle continues. Thanks for everyones prayers and support. May God Bless you all
